I guess the USWNST got fed up with Hope Solo's antics. Right on the cusp of preps for the next World Cup, Solo has been suspended for 30 days after she was found blitzed alongside her DWI husband. One would think she'd know better after her domestic violence arrest. The charges stemming from THAT were dropped; the rationale was that USA Soccer didn't have the info about that to justify a suspension because it happened on her own time during the "off-season." Well, they didn't have much of a choice now, since they're in the middle of training camp, so there's a distraction.
This REALLY puts Team USA in a bind going into CONCACAF. Solo is an impact player if there ever was one, but there's no guarantee that they'll bring her back from suspension, though this COULD be her last World Cup given that she's already 33. This is at least Solo's THIRD brush with the law, given that there was a domestic violence dispute just before her 2012 wedding to TE Jerramy Stevens.
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

If she was in the NFL, so many groups would have been pissed that she was not suspended or inactivated 9 months ago during qualifying. Instead she played during qualifying. The only reason her domestic violence charges were dismissed were because her half-sister and son failed to give depositions to Solo’s defense team on numerous occasions.
They are suspending her for 2 friendlies just to try to show that they are doing something. In reality, these are games that may be great warmups but mean nothing in the end.
