Even Joe Buck is better than that artificial excitement windbag known as Kevin Harlan. I had to deal with him via Westwood One on my way to the Sirens Super Bowl watching party after finishing my laundry yesterday. He didn't have much help (Mark Malone was the best, and he's not much good, either), but Harlan was enough to ruin the Super Bowl experience for me before I got to the Sirens party....HI54UNI wrote:And even though Collinsworth is annoying I'd still rather listen to him than Joe Buck.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Wrong. The Chargers might not have a ring, but they HAVE been to the Super Bowl.ASUG8 wrote:

Well, the Browns have AAFC and NFL Championships, too. Actually, the Browns are the ONLY champs the AAFC ever produced. (Unless one counts the Colts' and 49ers' post-merger Super Bowl wins. The Browns still haven't "shown up" since just before the Super Bowl era.)

To be fair, the Texans have only been around since 2002, Jags since 1995 and Browns since 1999 unless you are going all the way back to the original Browns (which turned into the SB winning Ravens a few years later) and we can all agree that the City of Cleveland is just cursed.Vidav wrote:Or Texans, Jaguars, or Browns.SuperHornet wrote:

Curious:
The Colin Kaepernick (SF 49rs) contract is probably the WORST NFL QB contract I've seen lately
Maybe Jay Cutlers is worse at $18 Mil
Alex Smith is making $17 Mil
Joe Flacco is making $20.5 Mil and that seems high
Considering Brady made $11.5 this season
Peyton Manning if h comes back gets paid $19.2 Mil and that even seems a little high
Q: Name something that offends Republicans?

Re: Super Bowl thread
The funny thing is that if you look at the specifics of the Kaepernick deal the 49ers really aren't on the hook for all that much guaranteed...unless I'm remembering some details wrong

Re: Super Bowl thread
Kaepernick's is not as bad as initially reported. The contracts are only guaranteed for each of the next 4 years if he is still on the roster on April 1 of that year. Dead money for next year would only be $9.8 million if cut by April 1 which isn't bad for the 2nd year of a contract for a starting QB, $7.4 for 2016, $5.0 for 2017, and $2.5 for 2018.Chizzang wrote:Wilson is young... time is on his sideclenz wrote:

Comparison is that Flacco's dead money is $15.3 million if cut in 2017, year 5 of the contract,

I noticed this too. Still not sure why Seattle would pass the ball. I was watching the game with my dad (had a great time btw, very entertaining game) and as soon as Kearse made that circus catch we looked at each other and said the game was over because all Seattle had to do was run it in. If anything a boot leg with Wilson was an option. Well 1st down gets them to the 1, then they stand around and call the worst play call in SB history that costs them the title. My dad and I broke into hysterical laughter.Chizzang wrote:Not sure if this has been stated yet:

The Seahawks were waiting for the Patriots to call a timeout - literally the coaching staff of the seahawks was anticipating the time out by New England
When it didn't come they knew they needed to run a pass play to stop the clock
The End:
"Never interrupt your enemy when he's preparing to make a tactical mistake"
The Patriots in so doing - by not calling a timeout - forced the Seahwaks who were mostly standing around waiting for the Time out call by New England to then hurry in a pass play call
I have NFL Rewind and watched it a few times... I stand by my assessment
