The New Journal in Delaware does that same thing...they refuse to put the person's race into any description of a crime (unless, of course, the perp is non-black).

A while back there was some Lib study that said readers got a bad impression of minorities due to the reporting of crime. So, several newspapers starting omitting the race of the perp, even when the police put out a description of the person. Often, the News Journal will not put a surveillance picture in an article.

So, we have the police trying to get word out about a dangerous suspect...and the News Journal, instead of protecting the public, wants to play a game of social PC sterilization.

Yup, be on the lookout for a 6' tall person in jeans...and we won't tell you, or show you, what he looks like.
