So...when's Rubio actually live up to half his hype?

Not too much hype anymore. He is serviceable when he's healthy. Wolves tried to get Eric Bledsoe in the off-season, but the price was too high.clenz wrote:So...when's Rubio actually live up to half his hype?

May have spoke too soon. Rubio comes in and scores 10 in the fourth, including the last 5, to beat the Grizzlies. Wolves were down 87-80 with less than 2 minutes left and came back to win 90-89.Gil Dobie wrote:Not too much hype anymore. He is serviceable when he's healthy. Miami is in full tank mode. Looking like Riles is lookong towards 2016. This time it might backfire on him. Bosh is looking more like the role player he was than the consistent star player that we need.

I thought Miami would be just fine without James...

Oh we are. Its just the bandwagoners that moved to Cleveland who think that the Miami Heat existed from 2010-2014 and will shrivel up and die because he left.clenz wrote:I thought Miami would be just fine without James...
The future is still bright, Whiteside will be a cornerstone of the franchise for years to come. Just a rough year with injuries and inconsistent lineups.

T-Wolves have now won 3 in a row, unfortunately they play the Hawks tonight.

T-Wolves traded Mo Williams and Troy Daniels to Charlotte for Gary Neal and a 2nd round pick.
They also traded a future lottery protected first round pick for Adrien Payne of the Atlanta Hawks, who saw very little playing time as the 15th pick the the draft.

Wolves youth had good performances at All Star weekend. Wiggins is MVP of rising stars game with 22 points for World team, Lavine gets 22 for USA team. Lavine comes back and wins Slam Dunk contest.

Getting the band back together.
The Big Ticket, Kevin Garnett is reunited with Coach Flip Saunders, Asst Coaches Sam Mitchell and Sidney Lowe in a trade deadline deal with Brooklyn for Thad Young. Young is said to be opting out of his contract when the season ends. Garnett will probably be a mentor to Wiggins, Lavine, Muhammad, Deng, Rubio etc.

The Godfather strikes again

Now we have a long term solution at both Center (Whiteside) and PG (Dragic). And we still have our core pieces to be competitive this season and the next with Wade last two years of his contract.

It's all part of the plan, you need to trust the process.bluehenbillk wrote:The Sixers show a bit of life so they make trades to get worse....
In all seriousness, though, MCW was never part of the long range plan for the Sixers. He would've been max money by the time the Sixers were ready to really stock up and he's not worth that. He was two years too early for the Sixers. It would be great if the Lakers can find a way to be the 6th pick in the draft (and no better) so they Sixers can get the first rounder this year, but I don't see Kobe being healty enough to get the Lakers out of the lottery next year so the Sixers will still get a decent pick.
Sixers, though, need to be in the top 3 this year after the lottery balls are picked so they need to start taking losing more seriously. I'd take any of Okafor, Mudiay, or Russell and any of them would be a player to build on. Getting Okafor might necessitate getting rid of Noel, but I'm sure Hinkie would know how to dovetail that into another pick. Right now, Embiid is the only current Sixer (in this country, obviously Saric is a keeper as well but he's already stashed away overseas) that should be part of the long range plan. With him, Saric, the top pick this year and next, there are 4 guys that come 2017-18 season should be worth the price of admission. Until then, I don't know why people get upset or even bother to watch the Sixers - they're looking two years out and we should as well.

I believe we're in year 2 of the plan. Two years from now (or hey, let's say 3), gets us to year 5. I can wait.clenz wrote:Is this the 30 year plan?

Bosh out for the year
Barely clinging to a playoff spot
And we destroy the Cavs at home for a second time this season
I would love to see us grab the 7th seed and have a Cavs-Heat first round matchup.
