This did occur in a bad area. Remount rd is crawling with drugs, criminals, the homeless, prostitutes, immigrants and defense contractors. :)

I'm shocked this didn't occur on Hanahan, a town one street over that is known as 'Clanahan' do to the racist police.

Act 2 - Will the cop be charged with murder? If a lesser charge, how crazy will the darkies get?

Act 3 - If the cop pleas and the deal isn't sufficiently harsh, how crazy will the darkies get?

Act 4 - If there is anything other than a jury verdict of guilty of murder, how crazy will the darkies get?
2- yes.

3- no need for the prosecution to accept a deal.

4 probably pretty crazy given the evidence.

I think the cops play this one by the book if for no other reason than the video; their hands are tied. The chief seems to be saying the right things and the family is calling for calm, which given the footage is pretty amazing. Be nice to see him get life but he'll probably wind up in Northern Idaho where he'll be a local hero.

There are thousands of people in prison who have killed who aren't on a life sentence. Given the mitigating circumstances in this case, I highly doubt he gets (or deserves) a life sentence.

I think there's going to be a plea deal. It's going to be a plea to something like "second degree" murder. I don't even know what the hell that exactly means. But I think that's what's going to happen.

Bottom line is that I think the cop involved will not get the death penalty but will spend the rest of his life in prison. But he may bet killed in prison.

1- it's not 1st degree murder
2- cannot receive death penalty
3- anything short of 1 AND 2 happening is racist and will result in rioting.

Running from the police deserves a charge of fleeing / resisting arrest.

Cops levying physical punishment during arrest is the problem. Punishment for crimes is supposed to be handled by the courts in a civilized society... not doled out at the whims of a police officer.
JFC, I said based on what has been shown so far the standard for using lethal force didn't look close to being met, and the cop went a step too far. Call it 2 steps too far if you like..

But if someone tussles with the cops and flees, he does deserve to get his ass beat. Looks lime this guy deserved bruises, not bullets...

I have to admit
I'm not really getting the whole "win win" feel from this one

Yeah, esp for the cop's 2 step kids and the one child soon to be born (his wife is reportedly pregnant).

He'll be out in a couple of years and retire off his gofundme account.

Sort of. If it's a high profile case, he'll take it. He's defended terrorists, mothers that kill their children, a CSU professor that led a Ponzi scheme. Not saying they don't deserve representation but he has a rep.
You called it- but like I said, I didn't see him taking the case UNLESS Slager was going to plead guilty, which might be the case here. Andy will likely be trying to minimize the sentence.

BTW I know Andy well- he does pro bono for the FOP and he is anything but a Saul character. Yes he has defended some scumbags- including guys with complaints against the police- but that's what lawyers do
