I can guarantee I would be jailed without bond for what I have in my pick up when I go to the range or hunting if I was pulled over in Cali or NY.

I think you'd be OK driving through those states as long as your weapons were cased and out of reach of the driver, mags empty, ammo boxed. Otherwise you'd be fucked. Maryland State Police are notorious for stopping Florida cars on I-95 because many of their residents carry and some of them are taking kilos to Baltimore, Philly, NY, and Boston. It's real easy for them to stop a Florida car for speeding and net a gun and then search for more.
