Not even close to being done. At least another 3 weeks, I think the Finals could go into June. People could conceivably be on the beaches in places like NJ and be able to watch hockey the same day.AZGrizFan wrote:Great googlymoogly, is hockey STILL going on?

A bunch of band wagon jumping, fair weather fans down here I tell ya. Everyone is now all of a sudden a die hard Lightning fan. I find it annoying.

TB had Montreal's number during the season. This is not a surprise that they are winning the series. Can't let up that late goal though with seconds to go.SunCoastBlueHen wrote:A bunch of band wagon jumping, fair weather fans down here I tell ya. Holtby continues to play well and Rangers still can't score when given the opportunities. Feel bad for Lundqvist who has a GAA of 1.64 and a .939 save % (both only behind Holtby for teams in the 2nd round) and his team can't freaking score a goal.
Rangers are averaging 1.78 goals per game in 9 games for 14th out of the 16 teams and tied with Mtrl for last for teams in this round. what the hell happened to the Rangers team that was 3rd in goals scored during the regular season? They had 29 goals in 8 games against the Pitt and Washington during the regular season and now can only score 16 in 9 games? I get the playoffs are played tighter but the Rangers haven't played their type of game all playoffs.

No Zucc, and Nash has been a ghost. St. Louis is way over the hill, too.tribe_pride wrote:TB had Montreal's number during the season. This is not a surprise that they are winning the series. BTW, why do the Rangers always have coaches who are crybabies?

Could? It never finishes before June 10th or so. A couple years ago it went to June 22 or 23.GannonFan wrote:Not even close to being done. Name a team that other team's fans don't accuse the other team's coaches and players of being crybabies. Trotz has been fine but Boudreau, Hunter and Oates were known to whine when things weren't going their way.89Hen wrote:tribe_pride wrote:Holtby continues to play well and Rangers still can't score when given the opportunities. AV has done a great job with the Rangers overall and brought them to the Stanley Cup finals last year with not the best team so can't complain.
I actually like the Caps and will root for them if (when) they move on.

Wish I could say the same. I loathe the Rangers, that goes back to the 70's.tribe_pride wrote:Name a team that other team's fans don't accuse the other team's coaches and players of being crybabies. AV is a good coach, but baloney on all coaches being seen as crybabies. Worst offenders: Torts, AV, Ruff, Capuano, Julien... I don't ever recall thinking guys like Babcock, Quenville, Sutter, Bylsma... were crybabies and I hated their teams.

So outside of Bylsma (who coached the biggest bunch of crybabies out there), the Eastern Conference coaches are crybabies and Western Conference coaches are ok.

Sutter would have to say more than two words in order to be a crybaby.89Hen wrote:Wish I could say the same. I loathe the Rangers, that goes back to the 70's.tribe_pride wrote:

Re: 2014-15 NHL Season
ECB FTW! but seriously, AV was a western coach, Ruff is now a western coach, Torts coached out west... your point kinda loses some steam. I was pretty much cherry picking the good teams over the past several years with tenured coaches. One of my favorite coaches was John Stevens when he was with the Flyers. No emotion whatsoever.tribe_pride wrote:89Hen wrote: Wish I could say the same. I loathe the Rangers, that goes back to the 70's.

Re: 2014-15 NHL Season
Take a deep breath - I never argued those guys were not whiners. I actually like some emotion out of coaches. Figured you might only hate AV now which is why I said Eastern coach for him. As for Torts and Ruff, those guys spent 90% of their careers in the East and Babcock was West forever until Detroit switched conferences which is why I considered him a Western coach. Basically, your examples were an East/West split which I found funny.89Hen wrote:ECB FTW! but seriously, AV was a western coach, Ruff is now a western coach, Torts coached out west... your point kinda loses some steam. Lightning were 5-0 against the Habs in the regular season this year outscoring the Habs 21-8. This game is kind of insane though. Happy for the Habs.El Griz wrote:Habs - Lightening game going the way the first three games should of gone.

Happy for the Caps. IF they can get by the Rangers, I sure would love their opponent to be a little more worn out.tribe_pride wrote:Happy for the Habs.

Re: 2014-15 NHL Season
Survived to Game 6 as Rangers win 2-1. Rangers tie it up with <2 minutes to go and then and then score in OT to win it. Holtby and Lundqvist both playing all-world in goal. Playing the way the 2 of them are, their teams would be in the conference finals against any other team already.
Hoping I get to hear a bunch of this next Wednesday but 1 game at a time.
