Meh. He ain't worthy to tie Earvin's shoes....
Of all the players in the NBA, Curry is most worthy.

Football is actually incredibly boring, especially compared to hockey.

3-3.5 hours for a game. 11 minutes of the ball in play. probably maybe 7-10 actual exciting plays during the game.

Hockey takes 2.5-3 hours. Puck is in play for every second of game action. There is probably 30-40 minutes of great action during a hockey game

Better in person:
NHL
MLB

Better on TV:
NFL
NBA
NASCAR

That being said, if you have good seats, any of the "better on TV" sports are still a lot of fun.

Agreed - love going to baseball and hockey games, TV, not so much.

As I play it, it is more a sport than NASCAR, but still a recreational pursuit

Sucks about Kyrie. If it was ever a series before this, it's over in 4 now.

LeBron choked in the last game (particularly in OT), but losing Kyrie had more impact on them.

Will they step up like when they lost Love two series ago? Or will Golden State take advantage and prolong the Cleveland fans' curse?
All the Ivy League needs to become relevant again is to diversify its OOC schedule.

That depends on how you describe "exciting". ANd having a puck "in play" does not automatically equate to "great action"....lots of dump outs, skating around, penalty killing, etc...that are like watching paint dry.

Choked? He was primarily the reason the Cavs were even in the game. Maybe if Tristan Thompson, James Jones, or Dellavedova decided to do anything offensively, they wouldn't have needed OT to begin with. :ohno:

GS is the better team (especially bench wise) and without Kyrie now, it may get ugly.

Not that I'm watching or anything, but I'm hearing that LeBron's getting the old Jordan walk non-calls.

He also got hacked a couple of times towards the end of the game and did not get the calls like most stars (or regular players in at least 2 cases) do.

Tale of two games last night. Curry was awful, plain & simple, whether it was the defense, the rushed shots, whatever - worst shooting % of the year. Lebron for most of 3 1/2 quarters was the best player on the planet - then went cold at the end again. Series will go 6 or 7.

This is only true if LBJ can keep it up. He is averaging 41.6 minutes per game in the postseason and has played 46 and 50 minutes in the 2 games of this series. He has gotten very tired by the end of both games especially with the Warriors being able to shuffle in 10 guys to the Cavs 7-8.

Interesting note that LBJ has now played 666 minutes in the playoffs this season.

The shooting last night was horrendous. Watching Curry just struggle and then watching Lebron typically clang from 18 feet was tough. For the life of me, I don't know why Lebron ever settles for a jump shot, he can't shoot and he can drive like a beast. Just tuck the ball and go to the hoop. Sure they don't call things late but he has a much better chance of connecting two feet from the rim than he does anywhere else. Makes you really miss watching MJ or Kobe just drill 18 footers in a 4th quarter.

If Golden State continues to come up small with the shooting they're screwed. Maybe the moment is getting too big for Curry and company? Still time to correct it and step it up, but they can't afford to lose both games in Cleveland.

On that last drive in regulation, there was contact, but most of it coming from Lebron's elbow, pushing the defender off. He did get hacked on the arms on the other play though.

Him and Iggie certainly fouled each other early in the drive, but by the time he got to the rim there wasn't a foul there on the shot. Pretty clean look too, just didn't get it to fall. The whining from him and the announcing crew was significant, though.

Was listening to Cowherd today, and he said something interesting: Curry hasn't been the same since he hit his head on that awful looking fall in the rockets series. Just some food for thought.

And that missed call by the ref on Lebron where he was hacked at the end of regulation was hilarious. I mean the ref was standing right in the corner with a perfect view and clearly saw everything and still didn't call it! Exhibit A on how home courts/fields affect ref/ump psychology.

Lebron still shot 18 Free Throws, 40 total for the Cavs, compared to 25 for the Warriors.

Golden State took 9 more 3 pointers than Cleveland.

Take a look at the shot chart. You'll quickly see why Cleveland got that edge. One team attacked the rim the other shot jump shots

That's all true, and add a few for the hack-a-shaq at the end, but there were also questionable calls against Golden State. A bad call or two against Lebron, didn't really give the Warriors home cooking.

The story of this series isn't LeBron - its Mathew Dellavedova. Who would've thought this guy could make the impact he has?? Unbelievable energy & defense.

Curry has been underwhelming.

How much longer can Delly keep it up though? He went to the hospital last night with cramps and Shump is getting a precautionary MRI on his shoulder. Anyone here know how to play guard?

bluehenbillk wrote:I'll agree that the NHL playoffs as a whole are better than the NBA. However, the NBA Finals are most always more entertaining than the Stanley Cup because in the NBA the two best or better teams are normally playing for the title. I'm sorry but a Cavs-Warriors title match up completely dwarves the Lightning & Blackhawks.
I get what you're saying, but it also sounds like you're saying you might be happier if #1 in the west played #1 in the east... ergo, skip the playoffs. The ONLY reason Cavs/Warriors is a sexier match-up is Lebron vs Curry

I watched the last 8 minutes of the game last night. That's more NBA than I watched all year. It was very entertaining, but I still could do without so many timeouts. The NHL has put rules into place where it's hard to stop the game without some kind of detriment to your team (icing can't change players, clear it over the glass is a 2 minute penalty, etc...). IMO that's a good thing. The TO's in bball are more akin to the absolute disgusting stuff they do at the end of a soccer game to milk the clock.
