Flight fuckups come with the territory. I've had more flights cancelled/delayed/rerouted than I can remember...often with great personal/professional expense.

Don't like it, write a letter to the airline and/or your conressman.

And yes, AZ, I've had to make MANY all-night drives to reach my destination or catch a connecting flight.

I wonder why in Southeast Asia there are about 10-15 airlines flying regionally- all competing with each other on duplicate routes - you can fly anywhere in mainland or maritime Southeast Asia for less than 200 bucks

the customer service is excellent

the stewardesses are hot

the food is good

the planes leave on time

so obviously the free market is working in what is a very unregulated free market over there

i wonder what the difference between them and us is

because they have less regulations on mechanical issues and flight safety
It costs LESS to skip maintenance tests

and now 48 people are dead - but the airline did save money





TransAsia had a cash 12 month earlier - same model aircraft
same issue - ZERO Mechanical maintenance

Well, I would say that's another strong point and I certainly do not know the answer to this but how does the safety record compare with US over say a 10 or 20 year period?

AS you know I like to things to only be as regulated as necessary and maintenance is most definitely under that umbrella.
