This is a direct result of too many additives in our food and removing P.E from the schools. When I was in school, we had P.E every day for an hour. My son has P.E once a week for 30 minutes. This is why my son plays sports all year long. But I must but most of the blame on the parents. . Kids will only eat what you buy them.

This is just another subtle "bad cleets" is better than everyone thread.

Most of us will never know what it's like to have an ironing board stomach and arms that have been ripping wrinkles out of pleats for years.

Just be happy with who you are, we don't need anymore dals, or kkkleans

Is that right.. clearly I've hit a soft spot (pun intended)
So shall we examine the themes of your threads..?

There's a difference between the CDC's landing page on BMI
which amounts to an explanation as to what BMI is

and the study which the article references - which is a nutritional survey
"The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey" which actually began in the 1950's at some point
and has continued on since - the report focuses on the survey period between 2007 and 2012

You're either willfully dishonest - which you've shown regularly - or stupid

:tothehand:
I didn't go through and read the actual published paper. The article says literally nothing about waist circumference, but it does say…
The NHANES data included information on height and weight, which are used to calculate a person’s body mass index. A BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 is considered normal. Someone with a BMI in the 25-to-29.9 range is considered overweight, and a BMI over 30 qualifies a person as obese. (You can calculate your BMI here.)

Women were much more likely to be obese than overweight, with 37% of women in the former category and 30% in the latter. Altogether, two out every three women in the U.S. were above a normal weight.

The proportion of men who were obese was almost as high as women – 35%. But that figure was lower than the 40% of men who were in the overweight zone. With both groups combined, three out of four men in the U.S. exceeded a normal weight.
The way the article is worded it sounds to me like they are using BMI as the only measure of obesity. If there is actual waist circumference factored in, don't blame me because of the crappy reporting. :tothehand:

There are two kinds of social gatherings in coastal Georgia and South Carolina that revolve around shellfish. One is very much like a Louisiana boil, usually involving shrimp, corn on the cob, sausage, and red potatoes and is considered part of Lowcountry cuisine. Known variously as Frogmore Stew, Beaufort Stew, a Beaufort boil, a Lowcountry boil, or a tidewater boil, they tend to be a bit milder than their Louisiana cousins. For example, it is not unusual for a Lowcountry recipe to call for a mixture of hot and mild boil seasonings, whereas a Louisiana recipe may start with crab boil packets and add large amounts of cayenne pepper. While shrimp are most often used, crabs and/or crawfish may be included if available. This is also a bit different from a Louisiana boil, which usually involves just one kind of shellfish at a time.

Frogmore is name of a community in the middle of St. Helena Island, near Beaufort, South Carolina. Although there are many versions of this dish around, the name Frogmore Stew was coined in the 1960s by Richard Gay, one of the owners of Gay Fish Company, circa 1948, on St. Helena Island. Frogmore Stew became far more well-known after is was featured on the cover of Gourmet Magazine in the 1980s, and is enjoyed by all, with this name, to this day. In 2005, The Travel Channel featured Richard's brother, Charles Gay, cooking Frogmore Stew in its popular program Taste of America with Mark DeCarlo.

The Low Country Boil may have possible influences from Louisiana, as there are some obvious similarities to some dishes of the cuisine of Louisiana. It showcases the same set of French, Spanish, African and Caribbean influences, including slave trade influences that Louisiana is known for. Meals for large gatherings of people would have to be made as quickly as possible with readily-available foods. The boil was a quick and easy way to prepare all the foods at once.

Good, we don't need to waste it on pussies from Montana who don't enjoy local cuisine.

So you guys took what everyone else calls a boil or a clam bake, called it a stew, named after Podunksville, SC and it's somehow a WC(b) fail?

Now excuse while go whip up some Cheney fritters.
