...come a little closer and listen. HETEROSEXUALS WILL STILL MARRY EACH OTHER!!!!!!!!! Why? BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THEY FUCKING DO. THAT'S WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm no peter puffer and frankly think the act is, well, icky...(
), but 2 gay men and 2 gay women marrying is NOT gonna destroy the traditional family. Your children will NOT want to turn gay and do the same thing, men will still want to tap any and all pussy and hetero women will still want their void filled with a big, fat, vein-ladened stiff one SO CHILL THE FUCK OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm no peter puffer and frankly think the act is, well, icky...(

Something that has been rolling around in my head lately is a study from Canada in which only 5% of those that were same sex couples, actually pursued marriage.
Is that an amount too small for such an uproar, or is it the principle?

from the opponents perspective, i've discovered it's that gays exist at all that seems to bother them...SeattleGriz wrote:Something that has been rolling around in my head lately is a study from Canada in which only 5% of those that were same sex couples, actually pursued marriage.

from the other side... i don't care if it's one damn couple that wants it... i've seen what happens in an emergency room when a partner is denied access to the bedside... (in this case she knocked over the attending and went in there... my dad and i helped him up and i said "good luck getting her out of there" and that was the end of it)
short version - equality is equality, and gays are entitled to the same rights as straights.

Yup. People are scared or grossed out by gays. Don't want to except anything about them. If a church doesn't want to conduct gay marriages then so be it but if they want to then let them.TwinTownBisonFan wrote:from the opponents perspective, i've discovered it's that gays exist at all that seems to bother them...SeattleGriz wrote:Something that has been rolling around in my head lately is a study from Canada in which only 5% of those that were same sex couples, actually pursued marriage.

Everyone needs to be friends with a gay to help understand they are no different then the rest of us. I had a friend in college that disliked gays. But then one of his best friends came out of the closet and when he listened to everything he had been through he changed his mind of gays.

I agree with that last point completely. As gay guy at Liberty (I just graduated), the amount of homophobia there was unreal, but as I slowly started to come out to more friends, they began to realize that I wasn't any different from them, other than my sexual attractions. Some didn't like it and just stopped talking to me, but the majority I've been in contact with have changed their views, at least by varying degrees.

Holy Moly! A gay guy at LIberty! That must have been quite a difficult journey to endure. Congrats on the graduation.ATrain wrote:slycat wrote:

I was really glad to see my friend open his eyes and realize how he had been blinded by misinformation.
Congrats on the graduation

Thanks, yeah it was difficult, but in the end the journey helped me understand who I was, and be ok with it. Not everyone who goes there can say the same thing unfortunately.danefan wrote:Holy Moly! On a more serious note, I'm not sure HOW one manages to survive 4 years at Liberty with THAT issue bubbling under the surface, but I'm sure it made you a stronger person in the long run. Congratulations.

There's this cool button called "view new posts"....you should look into it. It would make it much easier to keep kicking your ass on these threads if you actually ENGAGED in a discussion and we didn't have to wait hours at a time while you attempt to reboot your DOS and find cs.com on the greenscreen.D1B wrote:You post less than a minute after I do!
