You would be closer linking SE and the CCCP.

ISU will be rolling through the B(flully)S this year. We got the BigHuman!!!
Plus they have Mangum and Finney back on offense, a transfer QB that's supposed to be real solid, and all BSC returners at all three levels on D.

They also host us, MSU, and the Griz.

I'll consider them a toss up with EWU and MSU for conference champions.

If ISU just returns 50% of their punts and kickoffs for TD's..we got a chance!

I voted for Cal Poly....because I went there :coffee:

I actually think the biggest reason that they will not win the Big Sky is their schedule. From a talent standpoint this team should be pretty loaded. I am confident they can score on anyone in the conference; we will see how well they can defend.

Voted for Northern Colorado because they might get real lucky. And it is better to be lucky than good, and they show no signs of being good.

I voted EWU, but who do they have at QB to replace Adams though?

Jordan West, who started a few games last year. He's solid, but not as good or as talented as Adams.

It's still an open competition. West is the front runner. He has size, a big arm, and started four games last year. He's being pushed by RS's Reilly Hennessey and Gage Gubrud who was a walk on. They both had really good Spring games and it sounds like Gubrud is the most athletic of the three.

Baldwin and Hill are QB guru's so I think we'll be fine on offense. I also wouldn't be surprised to see multiple QB's used.

The polls don't make much sense. ISU had 6 pre season all conference, most of any team, yet they are picked 6th by the coaches. SMH. I think they think they are the pre 2014 Bengals.

Which coach voted for NAU? I just don't see it even if Connor Brewer hadn't transferred before he even arrived.

I predict NAU will be competitive in most games as everything I read talks about the team athleticism and depth improving. I predict they'll win a game or two that no one thinks they will (a la Cal Poly and EWU last year) and lose a game or two that no one thinks they will (a la UND and UNC) just like last season. Four out of those first five games are mighty tough. A 1-4 record to start isn't out of the imagination.

7-4 record seems like a bit too sun-shiney of a prediction. I'm going with the obligatory 6-5 or 5-6 this year.

What is the QB situation at ISU? Maybe that's why?

If you don't know, you will soon enough. ISU rolls through the BSC this year. Maybe one fluke loss, but all the better to prepare the Bengals for the feast that is the CAA and So-Con. :thumb: :thumb:

I would say it's a 95% chance it will be EWU, UM or MSU and I picked EWU.

MSU and EWU should be about equal in the voting as should UM and ISU.

I'm not sold on Stitt just yet.

Everyone always gives the Griz the benefit of the doubt, with their tradition and historic success. And I actually agree with that most of the time, the Griz always bounce back and they are always competitive even in their down years.

However, they haven't fared so well under 1st year head coaches in the last 5 years:

2010: Plfugard, 7-4, no playoffs.
2012: Delaney, 5-6

Of course the 2nd year for those coaches were great.

But at this point, this will be the 3rd new HC at UM since 2010, and each one has drastically changed the schemes/offense.

UM may gel towards the end of the season, but they have a tough start:

NDSU - L
Cal Poly - since it is in Missoula I'll say W
Libery - toss up
NAU - L
UC Davis - W
Weber - W
UNC - W
PSU - W
ISU - L
EWU - L
MSU - toss up

Since Poly is OOC, UM could end up 4-4 in conference this year at the worst, and 6-2 at best IMO. I can see them losing 3 out of 4 against NAU, ISU, EWU, and MSU.

I just don't see them winning the conference, but they could very well make the playoffs.

For me, I consider myself fairly unbiased (I'm sure many disagree), but I see the Cats as being the favorites. We only lose Sean Johnson off of last year's offense, and we've made a ton of moves/corrections in the offseason to the defense, who only needs to be marginally better to win another game over last year.

If Prukop can stay healthy and the defense can improve from horrible to bad, I thin we have a good shot of winning the conference.

Conference:
Cal Poly - since it is in Bozeman I'll give us the nod, that was a tough game last year, our defense like usually was awful
@NAU - W
Sac - W
@PSU - W
@UND - W
SUU - W
@ISU - toss up
UM - toss up

IMO the only three games we don't have a pretty good chance of winning are Cal Poly, ISU and UM. If we win 2 out of the 3, I think we at least share the title.

EWU conference:
@Sac - W
Cal Poly - toss up
@ISU - toss up
@ UNC - W
Weber - W
NAU - W
@ UM - hard fought W
PSU W

EWU, like MSU, has 3 tough games, two of them on the road - UM, and ISU.

The thing to me that made VA special wasn't just the numbers, but how clutch he was. When EWU needed a first time, or even a touchdown, VA made it happen. That is a trait that is hard to find. West may be a great QB in his own right, but can he make the throws on 3rd and 15 down by 4 with 45 second left?
