Yep. Good thing she didn't order a bridge lane blocked. She'd be fucked.SDHornet wrote:This whole email/server scandal only matters if she is indicted…and I will be surprised if that happens. The Clintons will cut some kind of a back room deal somewhere and this whole issue will be significantly diminished and she will still be the dem nominee.

As a leader/manager/administrator at any level in the public or private sector it is her responsibility to ask why, what are the pro's and con's, etc and then to approve or disapprove the decision. And whether she understood or not, she is ultimately responsible for the action. The buck stops with her.kalm wrote:You'll have to forgive me as I haven't followed the scandal as closely as you because frankly outside of the humor of Hilary getting foiled and unlike you, I'm just not that obsessed with following every right wing conspiracy. It doesn't matter one iota whether she is tech savvy or not - she knew better because she was briefed on it when she came on board (that's a fact)
If I or any other employee at DoS had done the same thing we would already be in prison
There's no excuse - she sent and received classified (including SCI) over a private server because she wanted to avoid any congressional oversight
Like Hillary once told David Petraeus once (ironic since he was convicted of similar antics) - this whole story requires a suspension of disbelief to work![]()
Your second sentence is the best explanation yet. You should have gone with that to begin with. If she was briefed on it and told it was illegal than yes, she should pay the price. Obviously someone also briefed her to do otherwise and that would be her fault for playing with fire. But my point about older people understanding how these things work still stands and you know it.
Now...back to Democratic Underground to arm myself for your next reply!

So, the aid was unable to send classified information over encrypted fax. Inspector General: Clinton emails had intel from most secretive, classified programs
This bitch needs to be put in front of a firing squad.EXCLUSIVE: Hillary Clinton's emails on her unsecured, homebrew server contained intelligence from the U.S. government's most secretive and highly classified programs, according to an unclassified letter from a top inspector general to senior lawmakers.
Fox News exclusively obtained the text of the unclassified letter, sent Jan. 14 from Intelligence Community Inspector General I. Charles McCullough III. It laid out the findings of a recent comprehensive review by intelligence agencies that identified "several dozen" additional classified emails -- including specific intelligence known as "special access programs" (SAP).
That indicates a level of classification beyond even “top secret,” the label previously given to two emails found on her server, and brings even more scrutiny to the presidential candidate’s handling of the government’s closely held secrets.
“To date, I have received two sworn declarations from one [intelligence community] element. These declarations cover several dozen emails containing classified information determined by the IC element to be at the confidential, secret, and top secret/sap levels,” said the IG letter to lawmakers with oversight of the intelligence community and State Department. “According to the declarant, these documents contain information derived from classified IC element sources.”

I know you're cynical about our politicians and government in general- I am too. And for many people, you're right about their motivations- this IS about getting Hillary Clinton.
But you're wrong about the implications- they do exist and they ARE serious. When the kind of stuff she had on her server gets out in the open, good people do die. It doesn't take much for foreign intelligence to figure out who our snitches are, and they can also assess our capabilites. It matters- this person who couldn't be bothered to safeguard sensitive info wants the keys to the realm- she doesn't deserve them, and the last thing we need is people carrying her water for her out of a sense of "well, it isn't a big deal it's just politics"m
One tidbit that people are missing in the latest email revelation is that Steve Mull was trying to get her to accept a dept blackberry because her personal server had crashed FOUR times. Why was it crashing? Because the Chinese and the Russians and god knows who else were crawling around inside it. The whole reason we know about her server is because Sidney Blumenthal's own email had been hacked. Even a teenage kid woud have been able tpo identify her email from that.
Add to this that NOBODY is going to want to give us intelligence if they can't even trust the nation's top diplomat to safeguard that info. In that respect, this is worse than wikileaks.
Just because we are a banana republic doesn't mean we should be throwing up our hands and saying "well fvck it, we're a banana republic". We still need to demand that our leaders follow the law when it comes to state secrets.

Even if you're right on Bernie (about which I'm doubtful) the DOJ needs to investigate Hillary after the FBI is finished and without any undue influence from the executive branch. If the FBI came banging on my door to get access to my computer, they'd just come in and take it. Why can she get by with releasing bits and pieces as she gets around to it? It's a double standard for top tier politicians and us lowly citizens.houndawg wrote:Funny how he mostly sticks to the issues.
