I'm watching the volleyball World Cup instead.

What kind of flat screen TVs are the contestants carrying? :suspicious:
These signatures have a 500 character limit?

What if I have more personalities than that?

Knowing dal doesn't understand English, perhaps he will understand Spanish.

Why would a topic about T&F not be about race?

Oh yeah, that kind of race...my bad... :-P

Any word on Suhr yet?

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Qualified for the finals on her 2nd attempt. Passed to 4.55 m (whatever height that is). Missed on her 1st attempt and made her 2nd. Because 14 reached at 4.55, they stopped there since finals are at least 12 vaulters.

Finals start 7:00 am EDT on 8/26. She has the 2nd best season best going into the finals.

Not even close. While strong in HS, she did not become elite during college and beyond I don't believe. Both Women High Jumpers and Vaulters are generally very attractive though, especially the eastern Europeans. Wouldn't let her not competing stop you from watching. What might is that it's in Beijing so times are not conducive to watching live.

Funny story. Drunken gold medalist in the Hammer throw (heavy metal ball attached to a big chain that is thrown by a guy who is spinning around really fast - dangerous event because a mistimed throw can go anywhere though there is a fence around the thrower- don't think competed in any high school level in the US) paid his cab fair with his gold medal by mistake. Got it back the next day.

Hammer and jav are allowed by SOME state associations, but certainly not CIF. Which puts Cali athletes behind the eight ball in those events when they hit them in college....

According to this year's Denver Post Article, only Rhode Island sanctions HS Hammer (and how many people actually live in RI?) and Washington, Oregon, Georgia and Ohio have competitions for it but don't recognize it so Californian athletes are not really behind the 8 ball against domestic competition in the hammer. Javelin yes as probably about 17 states do it competitively in state meets according to the other article.

Steeplechase is another T&F event that many states don't do.

Good point, TP. We don't have the steep, either. I'd LOVE to see that in our league....

Looks like Suhr tied for 4th with another American and 2 others. She pulled her groin during warmups but went for it. Cleared her first attempt at 4.70 (her opening height) but failed 3 times at 4.80

So Bolt backed up his 100 win with a dominating 200 win but the story is what happened afterwards

I saw when that cameraman ran him over no harm no foul move on.The best part of that 200 was the bronze medalist Anaso Jobodwana been watching him since his college days at Jackson St when he was a frosh of impact he qualified for Indoor NCAA Championships in the 200M the only frosh in '11 in Boise,Idaho. He clocked a 19.87 his career best next yr I say he gets in the conversation for the bronze with a 19.79 in Rio.
