The little guy from SC who got the 10 pitch walk after getting a 1-2 or 2-2 count was all smiles as he walked to and while he was standing on 1st base. The guy fought off some tough pitches and with 2 outs, the pressure was really on. Felt bad for the Penn pitcher right after that for giving up the triple and then another run but he recovered well when he came to bat and got the game winning hit.

Will find out if Texas is legit now as they'll face a PA team that won't throw Wagner next game. PA's been hitting everyone, though, so Texas will have to put up runs. If SC can make it through the losers bracket and get to PA again, would be interesting if they can pitch that no-hitter kid and how he would fare against the PA bats. The PA bats were cooled off when they face the NJ pitcher in the regionals and he was just throwing junk after junk. Not sure how they would handle a guy with as much heat as the SC kid throws.

PA and TX only need to win 2 more and can afford to lose their next game while CA and KY need to win 3 straight to advance to play the international winner.

Cali beats KY.

That is the 3rd time that KY has been routed (slaughtered)...twice in the WS and once in the regionals.

BTW, I am glad the ump emphatically told the CA pitcher to put the ball in play after he delayed a couple pitches. Last night, against New England, the CA pitcher took a REALLY long time to throw the ball to the plate. I am surprised the NE manager didn't complain to the ump...it really threw off the hitters because they sat in the box for a long time before the dude threw the ball.

I am sure tonight's ump watched that crap last night and decided to put an end to it.

Anyway, tomorrow night's game should be a good one between TX and PA. Then we get CA versus tomorrow night's losing team...then the chipper between TX or PA and the winner of TX or PA versus CA.

Good stuff.

I tend to teach the opposite with regard to pitching. I tell them to have a normal windup, and then a quicker one later in the count to make the fastball seem faster. I want the defenders to be on the field as little as possible. At young ages, asking them to stay focused too long ends up in disaster.

Pennsylvania beats Texas to advance to the US finals 3-0. Cal gets their rematch against Texas tomorrow for the right to play Penn.

Japan scores 3 in the 6th to beat Venezuela by 1 to go to the International Finals. Venezuela plays Mexico (who destroyed Chinese Taipei) for the right to play Japan.

Will the losers bracket teams have enough pitching left to compete in the finals?

That PA pitcher had great control and kept mixing up his pitches. TX pitched well, too.

However, TX struck out 16 times, and their last 14 straight outs were strike outs.

They'll need better hitting than that to get by CA.

Looks like a PA/CA final.

That is the likely scenario but remember that the Texans beat CA 8-4 a few days ago. And in 18 innings, Pennsylvania has only given up runs in 2 innings. Yes it was 4 runs each inning but they are a strong pitching team.

California will be the favorite and have an extra days rest but have played 1 more game than Texas which can greatly effect pitching matchups. If California wins, it will have played 2 more games that Pennsylvania which could be killer for pitching reasons.

The Japanese team showed a lot of resiliency & did a great job of getting their bats on the ball. Obviously a well coached team.

The PA pitcher was dynamite last night - a classic case of you don't need to be a flamethrower to be successful. Everything was down in the strike zone & mostly outside corner. He mixed in a high fastball every once in a while.

The TX team was maddening to watch. I've never seen a less aggressive offense. They're the antithesis of the PA & CA teams. TX took way too many called strikes last night & it wasn't bad umpiring. Heck the strike zone was kinda small for Little League last night - simply put you need to swing the bats!! Give TX credit though - they held the most lethal lineup in Little league to 3 runs - I believe their fewest of the summer, good pitching, especially their starter, unfortunately he's done unless they make it to Sunday.

Should be 2 good games today, all 6 teams left are really good.

TX with the 8th inning walk off to beat CA for the second time and send them home. The good news they live to Saturday, the bad news, they exhausted two more pitchers tonight plus one they exhausted on Wednesday so they'll be down the pipeline in pitching depth versus PA Saturday.

Mexico clobbered Venezuela.

And then there were 4.

Interesting fact about Mexico LL. Since 2013, they are 0-5 against Japan and 10-0 against everyone else.

TX bats came alive last night!

Glad CA didn't make it...I usually root for the underdog.

Go PA and Japan!

I'd hate to see Mexico and/or Texas win Saturday. To me, that would be a tie for their respective brackets since both lost to their opponent already.

Another great game last night for what has been a very entertaining WS. Yeah, PA is in the driver's seat based on pitching.

After PA dropped 10 on Japan in the 1st I thought it was over. Credit Japan's bats - they hit their way to the title.

Not that it changed the game yesterday but the home plate ump has to have a little better strike zone - that game took forever bc he squeezed the hell out of both sides.

I'd rather have that than an ump wit a 3 foot wide zone
