The Sun Belch Conference = FCS "poacher"
All the Ivy League needs to become relevant again is to diversify its OOC schedule.
Re: ASU-GSU-CCU
There are many Coastal fans that are excited about this. Many will tell you they don't go to Big South games b/c it's the Big South. They are excited for FBS games, especially AppState.grizzaholic wrote:Is it really worth it? Really?

The GSU and Appy St fans seemed to like it last year.grizzaholic wrote:Is it really worth it? Really?

Kind of bittersweet.....I hate to lose the SoCon rivalries, but it's kind of cool to begin new ones.GannonFan wrote:The GSU and Appy St fans seemed to like it last year.grizzaholic wrote:Is it really worth it? Really?

Re: ASU-GSU-CCU
It's the right move, these programs are in immediate competition for the Sun Belt title given the weakness of that conference. Hell, that conference didn't get any good UNTIL Appy and Ga Southern joined. CCU will only continue that momentum.grizzaholic wrote:Is it really worth it? Really?

Re: ASU-GSU-CCU
I was 50/50 on the move. Didn't want to lose the playoff structure, but was excited for new possibilities. I have to say that moving up was the right move. Being that season ticket sales are at their highest in 20+ years, and we set an attendance record last season, the fans seem to be very happy.grizzaholic wrote:Is it really worth it? Really?

Re: ASU-GSU-CCU
My ambivelence towards the move is well documented. I wish we had stuck out a few more years in the FCS and continued to grow, compete for the NC and earn our stripes. But the adventure ahead is exciting. The Big South has always been a dumpster fire and even though the Sun Belt isn't a top conference, it'll open doors for the school and the fans.Baldy wrote:I was 50/50 on the move. We all know the Sun Belt isn't the SEC by any stretch of the imagination, but you will notice a monumental difference between it and the Big South.Ibanez wrote:My ambivelence towards the move is well documented. Winning most of your games out of the gate in the sun belt didnt hurt, Im sure.Baldy wrote:I was 50/50 on the move. Didn't want to lose the playoff structure, but was excited for new possibilities. There's no doubt that it helped.CID1990 wrote:Winning most of your games out of the gate in the sun belt didnt hurt, Im sure.Baldy wrote: I was 50/50 on the move. The last second losses to Tech and NCST hurt like hell as well, but it also showed that we belong.
Re: ASU-GSU-CCU
You guys were solid last year. I do wonder if GSU would have beaten the App team that showed up at the end of the season, however.Baldy wrote:There's no doubt that it helped.CID1990 wrote:

Re: ASU-GSU-CCU
I have doubts myself. We started strong from the get go and slowly faded toward the end while App stepped on it's dick out the gate and finished really strong. Hope to see both teams play more consistent throughout the season.ASUG8 wrote:You guys were solid last year. I'm still trying to figure out how we finished 3rd last year, play our tougher opponents at KBS this season, bring back 20/22 starters, and dropped a position in preseason rankingsBaldy wrote:I have doubts myself.
