Ripken's career actually goes AGAINST the grain of the typical steroid user....they're oft-injured, he was NEVER injured. There is no year that jumps out at you as a "juiced" year....I highly doubt he juiced.JoltinJoe wrote:That would be a huge blow to baseball ... However, Canseco was never a teammate of Ripken's. How would he know?Grizo406 wrote:

Eckersley went from an 18-year old starter with a blazing fastball and iffy control to one of the best relievers of all time with pinpoint control and a command of several pitches. If you needed 9th-inning ground balls, Eck was the man. He was no juicer.
He may have enjoyed a little weed from time to time, but that's another story!

Exactly...steroids, or any other PED, cannot give you the pinpoint control he had...might increase velocity but it can't do what Eck did so consistantly...Ivytalk wrote:Eckersley went from an 18-year old starter with a blazing fastball and iffy control to one of the best relievers of all time with pinpoint control and a command of several pitches. Bet he had good weed, though...

I'm not sure we need to be looking at someone Canseco played with.
