yeah, there were a few times Beasley was playing ol' winger, came all the way up the field, we lost possession and Ghana sailed a ball into Beasley's left back space. Jermaine Jones was all over the place, especially on that left side, which is where Ghana attacked the entire first half. That's where all those bomber crosses were coming from and where all their shots on goal came from too.
I hope Ghana gets another shot at Uncle Sam.Our goal differential says we might advance out of our group but Portugal might have to call it a year no way they score 8 goals in their next match after getting stomped 4-0 by Germany. We play Germany this Saturday 3:00 pm we need to come out of the gates smoking.
No shot at a rematch. Both teams would have to make the finals and there is no chance of that happening. Assuming Germany advances, US has the best shot at moving to the knockout rounds, then Portugal, then Ghana.
US likely can advance with a tie and a loss (assuming the loss is to Germany and not a big loss).
Portugal almost definitely advances with 2 wins (unless US beats Germany - haha), probably with a win over the US and a tie versus Ghana (unless US can pull out a tie versus Germany) and probably not with a tie against the US and win versus Ghana (unless big win over Ghana and/or big loss for US against Germany)
Ghana likely needs to tie Germany and then beat Portugal (and hope the US does not tie or beat Portugal). 3 points isn't going to be enough which is why the US-Ghana loser was likely out. Nobody in the group is going to beat Germany. Ghana is at a bigger disadvantage than the US because Portugal has a number of people out for the US game who at least 1 will be back for Ghana. Also, because Germany plays Ghana 2nd, they will still keep trying their hardest. If they have 6 points and are safely in for the 3rd game, they may rest a few starters for the US game.
