Klam, making false appeals without understanding the consequences. Yes, let's just keep doling out money because your feelings are sensitive. Those kids still receive the base benefits ALL kids receive.

How about you show me the concrete benefits of this study you quote?

That’s on you. It’s not hard to imagine a process for getting these programs off the ground to begin with. Ironically, this one is an evaluation of the efficacy of the program rather than just cutting it because it had the word transition in its description.

But hey, if you want to be top cop in regulating efforts to help the developmentally disabled, be my guest, champ.

And you fail to refute the 2 points:

-“With the full expense of college falling on third parties (the taxpayers), students would no longer have any incentive to economize. Neither would colleges.”

“-people usually don’t put as much care or effort into things they get for free as they do with things they are paying for”

There’s no such thing as ‘free college’. And you provide ZERO evidence that the taxpayer would get the ROI paying for the current 150k+ avg 4 year college cost today
https://educationdata.org/average-cost-of-college
which would rapidly inflate with the govt paying for it.

And many people say we have too many going to college and not enough going into the trades. So yeah, lets exacerbate that with even MORE going to 4 year colleges so we have more degree inflation and underemployed college grads.

And you want to have even more working class vote conk. Tell them they have to play for the college educations for the kids of the upper middle class and wealthy folks..
I refuted both points but it requires reading for comprehension. (Hint: we’ve done it before and most our peer nations currently do it.)

Regarding ROI…it’s intuitive. Increased productivity, increased innovation, increased tax revenues, lower social spending required.

But a very quick search showed this study from Georgetown.
It shows how tax revenues associated with Biden’s tuition idea alone would surpass spending within 11 years.

https://cew.georgetown.edu/wp-content/u ... ege-ES.pdf
Lol you didn‘t refute squat..

Regarding ROI..its intuitive. If people are getting something at no cost to them, they aren‘t going to work as hard for it.

The more govt ie taxpayer funding that is available to colleges/universities, the more they will raise their thition & fees. Already been proven.
A 2017 study from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York found that the average tuition increase associated with expansion of student loans is as much as 60 cents per dollar. That is, more federal aid to students enables colleges to raise tuition more.
https://www.cato.org/blog/federal-stude ... ion%20more.
Now imagine how much the colleges & universities will charge when 100% of the funding comes from the magic money trees in DC.

Who pray tell are ‘peer countries‘? Certainly none with a small fraction of the US population. The US seems to be doing quite well compared to the below countries, most of whom I assume have close to 100% taxpayer funded tuition, none of whom are the US peers population wise or racial diversity wise. 2013 data but can't have changed that much.

Both of your first two points have remedies and are not necessarily true. Unless you think every child of parents wealthy enough to pay for their kid’s education “don’t work as hard.” for example.

My point regarding peer countries was that somehow, they’ve avoided the catastrophe of what many of our own states did prior.

Reading is fundamental.

Keep trying though. :thumb:

So list us out the confirmed benefits? You can't because it was a study...like all the other thousands that sucked up the bucks and didn't produce shit. By this point in time, with all the spending, we should have the MOST effective educational system in the World, but we don't.

Stop preaching government employee.

Of course not. Big diff in family paying for it, that you are answerable to, than govt.

Irrelevant because the US has no peer countries unless you can name any in the same ballpark population and demographics wise..

The US has not only avoided catastrophe by not having the taxpayers foot bill for the entirety of college education, but has thrived.

Example. USNWR Best Global Universities Rankings. Not going through all 2,459, because I have a life. But of the Top 100 (103 universities because of a 4 way tie for 100), # of universities per country (quick count):
US: 41
UK: 11
Australia: 9
China: 9
Holland: 6
Germany: 5
Hong Kong: 4
Canada: 3
France: 3
Switzerland: 3
Singapore: 2
Saudi: 2
Belgium: 1
Denmark: 1
Jap: 1
Spain: 1
Sweden: 1
https://www.usnews.com/education/best-g ... ies/search
Students from all over the world come to the US because the US university system is kicking the worlds ass. Merica!

Gotta say that Trump the Magnificent has been on a roll.

Russ Vought, Director of the Office of Management and Budget, is probably the one who helped draw up the DOGE game plan.

Separate from Russ, love how Trump has made the EU take the pro war stance.

Lazy ass (and dishonest) is saying that spending is waste, fraud and/or abuse simply because they consider it frivolous like trump/musk are doing.
Depends on whether its ‘Tied’ or ‘Untied’ money.
He won't know. StOnge beat the crap out of him on his "specialty", economics, so don't hold your breath.

Russ Vought, Director of the Office of Management and Budget, is probably the one who helped draw up the DOGE game plan.

Separate from Russ, love how Trump has made the EU take the pro war stance.
Vought was literally co-author of project 2025

I would know since I grew up there.
So the news source got the location wrong. Does this change what’s happening?
