Just because many people like something doesn't automatically mean it has "little sustenance" or "leaves you feeling tired and empty inside". It's like that saying that correlation does not imply causation. If you really mean what you said, you're certainly missing out on a lot of really good things just because you want to be different no matter what. And even worse, you're letting that pop culture that you so deride dictate for you what you will or will not enjoy since pop culture is defining for you what you can watch/enjoy. I never thought Friends was like Seinfeld at all, other than being set in New York and shown on the same night on the same channel. Certainly different shows. Oh, and I liked them both. Not as good as "The Wonder Years", but going for different audiences.

Eh, the imperialistic view is over simplifying this war. There's an ethnic divide/blood feud in play with the Russia-Ukraine war that makes this more than just a land grab. The only people responsible for the invasion of Ukraine are the actual people who invaded Ukraine. Russia didn't have to do anything, but they chose to invade Ukraine. Russia wasn't threatened in any way, other than being restricted in dominating and attacking their neighbors at will. They wanted the freedom to attack neighbors at will and steal their territory, and the rest of the world has decided that kind of behavior is no longer tolerated.
I think this is more about actual accountability for where the weapons are going. Similar to Syria in which the US was supplying weapons and they astoundingly ended up in the wrong hands.
