Liberal? I'm right down the middle, except for Bernie (who's a loon) those are pretty much the moderate candidates and they come from both sides of the aisle - it's the folks that are 80% one party and less than 50% another party that are one side or the other.

Besides, I'm socially liberal (pro same sex marriage, anti-capital punishment) and economically conservative (pro-free trade). I thought that was pretty clear. :thumb:

I'm OK with gay marriage, pro choice, and indifferent on capital punishment which I guess makes me a bit liberal socially. I just want them to balance their damn checkbook and get people off the government dole (and stop being world police).

I want both people AND corporations off the government dole so I guess that eliminates me from being a conservative ;)

I want to strengthen border security and restrict immigration.

I like single payer health insurance while maintaining private providers and manufacturers.

I want free college education or skills training.

I like fair trade.

I want the big banks and big Ag broken up.

I want to see financial regulations and criminal laws enforced.

I believe in strong environmental protection.

I believe in competition therefore I strongly support strict anti-trust laws.

I believe in a constitutional amendment to end corporate personhood.

I'm pro-decriminalization of all narcotics.

Pro gay marriage.

Support the 2nd amendment.

On the first one, who's paying for it and who's capping the amount that colleges can charge for this "free" college education? You know, those same "not-for-profit" colleges that routinely raise their tuitions lockstep, and often higher relatively, every time government decides they want to pay for more people to go to college.

And as for ending corporate personhood, surely you don't mean to end it completely? The part of corporate personhood that allows for legal suits to be brought against a corporation for any acts the corporation has done in the past, regardless if the employees responsible and present then are no longer there, would seem to be a pretty good example of the good of corporate personhood. Surely you don't have a problem with that concept that has been around for about two centuries now, do you? Or are you just really pick and choose on this one and want to get rid of the parts you don't like?

So it's an all or nothing thing with corporations? They can no longer be sued if they are not granted the exact same rights as people? I think you know what I meant.

Remember, I'm the visionary. I leave the details to my hordes of Ivy League lawyer minions.

And yes, the way we fund colleges would need to change a little but it's not as if there aren't ways of funding and models for this.

The problem here is deciding what is more important. Getting people to agree would be impossible.

I think before anyone entertains the concept of fully paying for college we need to have a better understanding of the cost drivers causing college costs to dramatically outpace inflation. :twocents:

I had to do mine again to get my ideological thing since I didn't note it last time. Here it is:
Right-Wing Libertarian
Your political beliefs would be considered strongly Right-Wing Libertarian on an ideological scale, meaning you tend to support policies that promote free market capitalism and smaller government.
Shocker.

Here was a question from the "Social Issues" part of JSO's quiz. Did anyone else have it?

All homosexuals should be deported. Agree or disagree?

YES
NO
YES, what they do is unnatural. It just is. Really. Trust me. Yuck.
YES, because none of them are Constitutional originalists
NO, because where else would you find a quality florist, hairdresser, or interior decorator?
NO, because they are the life of every cocktail party.
MAYBE, do you mean bears or twinks?
