I'm a happy guy.

Trump and Sanders are making this election fun. :thumb:

Unfortunately, the so-called Democratic party is simply getting too conservative. Hillary and her super PACS will steal this primary election from the Democratic voters, with the help of some CONSERVATIVE Democrats...and you can count Jon and InfinityMan in that group.

The irony is thick.

They have to be careful because Bernie has the money to go independent and fvck things up for everybody; they badly need him "inside the tent pissing out", as LBJ said.

I would love for this to happen. Trump will run as well if he can't gain enough delegates and his nomination is taken from him at an open convention. God bless this election cycle.

Last election a third party won a single electoral vote... 1968. Would be pretty rare.

Past performance goes out the window this cycle. If Trump and Sanders stay in the general as independents they will get electoral votes.

What happens if no presidential candidate gets 270 Electoral votes?

If no candidate receives a majority of Electoral votes, the House of Representatives elects the President from the 3 Presidential candidates who received the most Electoral votes. Each state delegation has one vote. The Senate would elect the Vice President from the 2 Vice Presidential candidates with the most Electoral votes. Each Senator would cast one vote for Vice President. If the House of Representatives fails to elect a President by Inauguration Day, the Vice-President Elect serves as acting President until the deadlock is resolved in the House.

Ain't gonna happen. The GOP is running out of people to run other than Trump - Rubio is toast, no one knows who Kasich is, and Cruz may be the most evil man in the world (and he can't hope to win anywhere outside of the South, and Trump actually does better than he does there). Even if the GOP abandons Trump at the convention, whomever they pick probably won't beat Trump head to head anyway, and they and Trump will split the vote in places where the GOP should win and the Dem will win instead.

As for the Dems, Sanders isn't going to run as an independent - if he loses the nomination it will be because he didn't get more delegates (not counting the super delegates, just the regular ones) than Clinton did. I don't see the super delegates swinging the nomination the other way.

You may see Trump and Sanders face off in the general, but it will be as the GOP and the Dem nominees. Heck, it's almost the same as them running as independents anyway.

I like the idea of the RNC and the DNC being outsiders.

I'd say Sanders owes it to the million plus people that sent him $20 to be around for the general election regardless of affiliation. He will do much better than Hillary among independents and still get half the donk vote.

I would gladly accept Trump in order to learn the DNC.

There is absolutely zero chance that he runs as an independent if he's lost the regular delegate vote (not counting super delegates) to Hillary. He's not going to hand the election to the GOP and Trump just to stick it to the DNC for a race that he fairly lost.

Again, how does not wanting to hand the election to Trump classify him as a "pussy"? Two Democrats in the race, one with the backing of the DNC and one with the backing of a populist crusade, will not beat anyone the GOP puts up. Heck, Cruz would win in the general election if the Dems were split like that. Rubio would as well. Heck, Ben Carson could get back in the race and he might even be electable with a split Democratic ticket. Where's the joy in making that happen?

Because supposedly he "owes it" to his supporters who gave him money to keep running. If he really feels that he can provide the answers to America's problems then he should run...especially if hilldog just barely squeaks out the win.
