Not true. I may disagree with a lot of folks but definitely some more than others. I'm far more towards the center than a lot of other conservatives on the board. I'm still not in the middle and that doesn't make me right, but it does make me less extreme. Who here votes straight ballot? I think that's irrational.

For the first time since the 1940s, more Mexicans have been leaving the U.S. to return home than arriving, a reversal that brings down the curtain on the largest immigration wave in modern American history, according to a new study.

Mexican migration has been falling for some time. But the Pew Research Center figures released Thursday suggest that the surge in legal and illegal Mexican immigration that helped transform America—and remains a contentious issue on the presidential campaign trail—may have peaked for good.

“Mexican migration to the U.S. has been one of the world’s great migration stories, and this data shows it has come to an end,” said Mark Hugo Lopez, director of Pew’s Hispanic research. Pew based its study on an analysis of U.S. and Mexican government data for the years 2009 to 2014.

In a shift, Asians now represent the only group in the U.S. that is growing because of immigration.

About 16 million Mexicans flocked to the U.S. during the last 40 years—about half of them illegally. But between 2009 and 2014, some one million returned to their country of origin, while 870,000 headed to the U.S., according to the report.

Listen with BOTH ears. I'm not talking about Obama's record. I'm talking about his slant on the discussions by the candidates.
You can't simply make improvements to the immigration system and think THAT will solve the problem with ILLEGAL immigration. These are two entirely different things. One (prevention of illegal immigration) is entirely security related and the other (a clear, streamlined path for access to US soil) is a fix to a bureaucratic mess.
Bailing water out of your basement before you shut off the water leak is worthless.

NO. Talk about low information.. :ohno: I posted this last week in another thread. You need to pay attention.

During Obama's 1st term his admin were counting immigrants caught on the border and immediately (within 24 hrs) returned, called "voluntary returns" as deportations when past administrations hadn't counted the voluntary returns as deportations. It made the stats look like Obama was deportating at a record pace when in fact deportations were way down, and Obama falesely got nicknamed "deporter in chief"
I'm going to go KYJelly on you with some charts. This one goes through FY 13. The red is the voluntary returns that weren't counted under prior admin. The orange is the interior removals- the actual "deportations"
Image
http://www.politifact.com/punditfact/st ... d-deporta/

This one through FY15'. Deportations were down for 4 straight years.
Deportations under Obama plummet during second term

Looks to me like total removals were higher every year of his presidency. Would you rather have them get past the border, settle in, receive government services for a few years, then go through the deportation process?

Check your Obama Boner Wax boys...

"Deportations or "removals" under Obama are tracking higher than during the Bush years using the most literal deportation statistics, as well as those solely from ICE. Dobbs’ contention that the Obama administration is inflating its number is an interpretation of a change in federal policy to process and remove people trying to enter the country illegally rather than just turn them around. Whether you agree with the policy, those formal removals are occurring.

That strategy was accelerated by Obama so that people trying to cross the border illegally face more significant consequences and receive formal deportation orders..."

"US government deports fewest immigrants in nearly a decade

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration deported fewer immigrants over the past 12 months than at any time since 2006, according to internal figures obtained by The Associated Press as Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton called Obama's deportation policies too harsh.

Deportations of criminal immigrants have fallen to the lowest levels since President Barack Obama took office in 2009, despite his pledge to focus on finding and deporting criminals living in the country illegally. The share of criminal immigrants deported in relation to overall immigrants deported rose slightly, from 56 percent to 59 percent.

The overall total of 231,000 deportations generally does not include Mexicans who were caught at the border and quickly returned home by the U.S. Border Patrol. The figure does include roughly 136,700 convicted criminals deported in the last 12 months.

Total deportations dropped 42 percent since 2012....."

Sad indictment of the US economy.
BINGO! :notworthy:

PLUS:

High deportation figures are misleading
WASHINGTON — Immigration activists have sharply criticized President Obama for a rising volume of deportations, labeling him the "deporter in chief" and staging large protests that have harmed his standing with some Latinos, a key group of voters for Democrats.

But the portrait of a steadily increasing number of deportations rests on statistics that conceal almost as much as they disclose. A closer examination shows that immigrants living illegally in most of the continental U.S. are less likely to be deported today than before Obama came to office, according to immigration data.

Expulsions of people who are settled and working in the United States have fallen steadily since his first year in office, and are down more than 40% since 2009.

On the other side of the ledger, the number of people deported at or near the border has gone up — primarily as a result of changing who gets counted in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency's deportation statistics.

The vast majority of those border crossers would not have been treated as formal deportations under most previous administrations. If all removals were tallied, the total sent back to Mexico each year would have been far higher under those previous administrations than it is now.
Details...schmetails. :coffee:
