From all descriptions of the suspect so far, he's a known mentally-ill person that succumb to religious extremism and got hands on guns. A lot of things went wrong here, some out of anyone's control, that added up to a horrendous outcome. I hope all the victims rest in peace.

I know people who are Muslims, probably more than most Americans. They have advanced STEM degrees and contribute and are in many ways assimilated and western. I don't mind them. Right now the liberal left is happy to call everyone that doesn't think like them on immigration xenophobic and/or racist and exploit the hell out of the issue for political gain, but there will be a reckoning down the road that the myopic diversityphiles are too blind to see.

These second-generation immigrants from Latin America and Arab countries are going to be voting, and many of them have attitudes towards things like birth control, abortion, and LGBT folks that they aren't going to like. Right now the donks can bring them under their tent and win elections, but how long will that last? It's eventually going to bite them in the ass. It's not just the color of America that's changing.

Nah, there's no whitewashing in that case. Heck, the musical really elevates Hamilton at the expense of liberal darlings like Jefferson and Madison. If anything, it, and the Ron Chernow book it's based on, reverses some of the whitewashing of that history that has been fought over for the past two centuries.
