3 National Parks? That's all? SC has about 8 Wildlife refugees, 2 national forests, another 10 National Parks.

I've been to Whidbey, Bangor, Fairchild and McCord. Whidbey Island was an experience. I thought there was another USN base up there.
3 National parks is more than 43 states. SC has 1 national park, Congaree. There are 59 national parks. (This list by state show 58- think the one in DE makes 59.)..The most any state has is CA with 8. AK has 7, Ut has 5. 36 states have none.

Yeah, no military bases or ports in Delaware. :dunce:
But could put Delaware over by the motor pool if they had a military base.

 According to the National Park Service, we have 6. A few other sites say 7. Some say 8. Either way. I'm closer to being correct with my 10 than you are with your 1. There are quite a few properties owned and managed by the NPS. I must've included a couple of State Parks like Colonial Dorchester.

North Dakota, beside the 1 National Park, also has the International Peace Garden, managed by the National Park service. They plant 150,000 plants each year.

Cool. National Parks are more than actual parts. Some are gardens, battlefields, forests, etc..

My Mom was from Seattle, 42nd NE, and my first trip there was for the World's Fair in '62 - it was just like the Jetsons. Love the citizens there, just too many of them nowadays.

Had a girlfriend in AIT that was sent there, I think, for OCS when they found out she had a degree in sculpture.

Wrong. We aren't talking NPS sites but 'national parks'. You initially said "10 national parks". The NPS might manage 6, 7, or 8 sites in SC, but the link only shows 2 with "park" in the names, and only 1 of the defined 59 national parks.

The NPS has at least 388 sites but only 59 defined as "national parks".
The following names among the close to 400 sites:
-National parks
-National monuments
-National preserves
-National reserves
-National seashores
-National rivers
-Wild and scenic riverways
-National historic site
-National military park
-National battlefield park
-National battlefield site
-National battlefield
-National historical park
-National memorial
-National recreation area
-National parkway
https://www.nps.gov/parkhistory/hisnps/ ... ature.html

At a couple of the national park visitor centers I have seen listing of all 58/now 59 national parks so you can see how many you have been to. I count having been to 34 of the 59, but haven't been to the one in SC, Congaree.

I'll concede that I wasn't crystal clear. I should've written "sites" after "National Parks".

Still, I knew what I was talking about and was more accurate.

Ooh...we get to add Lake Roosevelt National Rec Area to the list. That's a big one too that goes some 150 miles from Grand Coulee Dam to Canada.

Oh...federal dams are another and there are a bunch in Washington.

We're even less dependent than I thought!

NPR (not the National Parks Radio), in their unbelievably fair and balanced way, decided to cover the problems of the TPP from the angle of the Washington meat marketers.

Yeah, ignore, once again, the carnage in the Midwest states, and focus on a few pig tongue exporters in a Blue state. :dunce:

And NPR continues to talk about the crowd issue without mentioning the erroneous report of MLK's tit removal.

NPR has taken their normally left leaning tilt and has gone several more steps to the left. They're almost coming back around the other side as they are now fully in support of the TPP. I'm not sure what they believe anymore, but appear to be settling on the opposite of whatever Trump is. Not NPR's finest hour.

Reread what he said...and read it slowly. Pause...then read it again.
