Re: The Democratic Party...
Regardless, the country needs for the Democrats to win control of at least one House of Congress in 2018. Right now the big problem is that we have a mentally ill, totally corrupt person in the Oval Office and we have his Party mates who are in control of Congress refusing to hold him accountable. If you'd have asked me even three years ago if I'd ever be saying this I'd have said you were smoking rope. But right now we need for the Democrats to take control of Congress because the Republicans are SO off the rails.
Right now, at this moment in history, the Republicans are worse. And it's not a close call to any rational person.

is that we indeed have an insane person as president..
Example: He holds up the letter from Kim Jong and says to the press
"You'd pay me to see what's in this (dramatic pause) its an amazing letter"
10 minutes later responding to a question: "well of course I haven't read it yet"
WTF!!!

And what’s happened in both parties (but seemingly more militaristic in the donk party) is that if you are NOT lockstep 100% in agreement with the party platform/agenda, then you are publicly shamed and ostracized. Much like what happpened to Toni Lauren when she came out as pro-choice...just fucking stupid that she was drummed out of a job because she had a mind of her own. I believe the donk party is about to split into two different parties, the Uber left and the corrupt left...CAA Flagship wrote:I don't believe that there are many people who align 100% with either party. Just voted here for the local elections and primary. What annoys me is that ND is straight ticket for the primary. I am not able to pick and choose candidates across party lines. The other thing I noticed in doing my research on candidates is that there is a serious lack of "decent" candidates at all levels. Everybody makes mistakes in life but if it seems like the ones that are up for office are "repeat" offenders or have a history of it.

The reason for that is if a person is a decent candidate, they have enough sense not to run for office and subject themselves and their families to all the crap that goes with it.

Oh come on Ivy. You know very well that any reasonable person would conclude that the guy has mental issues. I don't know why you do what you do on this board. Indeed he did. But that doesn't mean he doesn't have serious mental issues. Also doesn't change the fact that he lies a lot...even by the standards of politicians...and is totally corrupt.WWII wrote:Trump went to an Ivy League school.JohnStOnge wrote:

I gotta say, to, that if anybody ever challenged my view that someone who gets into an Ivy League school has to be in the top 1% of the IQ distribution it's Trump. Of course my view has always been qualified by a consideration of "unless they had a characteristic that got them special consideration." Like, frankly, a Black person doesn't have to be in the top 1% to get in. There's at least one biographer who claims Trump got in on the basis of a special favor (http://www.thedp.com/article/2015/08/do ... classmates).
I'd like to see his standardized test scores. Like for instance we know what George W. Bush scored on his SAT and we know that, though he probably would not have gotten into an Ivy League school without special consideration, we know that his pre 1978 SAT score was 1206 and we can estimate that he has an IQ around 129 or 130. I'd like to see Trump's SAT score but so far I haven't been able to find it.Another biographer, Gwenda Blair, wrote in 2001 that Trump was admitted to Wharton on a special favor from a “friendly” admissions officer. The officer had known Trump’s older brother, Freddy.
The guy just comes off as SUCH an idiot. Way more than GW Bush. GW Bush was inarticulate but he didn't come off as being a complete idiot to the extent that Trump does.
