Wrong, Trip, as usual. You really should stay out of the deep end of the pool when it comes to politics.kalm wrote:Or, from the redneck conk perspective “Fuck you, I might get mine....someday. What’s the Powerball jackpot up to now?”∞∞∞ wrote: You and your ilk have become so removed from reality that you think society investing in itself = socialism (as if America doesn't do that already). Apparently all wealth should move upwards and then trickle down to the rest of the population, because history has show that works.
Anyways I never believed that conservatives actually believe in supply side economics; they just enjoy the tax cuts for themselves. Might as well change the official GOP policy to, "F you, I got mine."
History has shown, indeed, that the American experiment has worked incredibly well. One of the youngest countries on the planet, and yet one of the most successful, wealthiest countries and population within 100 years of its creation.
What history has ALSO shown, unequivocally, is that YOUR solution does NOT work. It’s been tried. And tried. And tried. And tried again. It’s been bastardized, compromised, changed, reinvented, etc., etc....no matter WHAT iteration and conglomeration of thoughts and values that are spewed by the “leaders” of the newest so called socialist movement, it never, EVER works. But I get it...”it just hasn’t been done right yet”, right?

In retrospect, I should have voted Libertarian in 2016 instead of made Aleppo jokes about their pothead candidate, if for nothing else than to add one grain of sand on the scale in favor of a third party.
To which I replied that if that's the criteria then she could have voted for Trump as easily as she did Clinton - two people who take themselves more seriously than anyone else on the planet
Johnson would have made a great President

Heck, with inflation + population growth yearly at 3+%, even just freezing spending across the board for 5-6 years would get a 20% cut in inflation adjusted per capita.
You want to increase it in one area? Cut it further somewhere else..
Point being:
I only strongly disagree with about 20% of what trump is doing
and quite frankly that is about the same percentage that I strongly disagreed with Obama

I'll sometimes amusingly engage on Facebook or with friends and relatives who supported Hillary. They too take themselves seriously (at least their vote) and don't like it one darn bit when I tell them the vote was wasted on a horrible, dishonest candidate and they are responsible for Trump being in office. They then tend to get mad and accuse me of voting for Stein (curious they don't blame Bernie first) and don't believe me when I say I voted for Johnson and would again.
I have zero issues with Johnson being a goofball. I prefer that to the supercilious voters and candidates. If you read up on Johnson's history as governor, the dude knew how to get shit done and was willing to listen to everyone. He had an open door to his office every Thursday from 4:00-10:00 throughout his tenure where any citizen could come in and spend 5 minutes with the governor. Dude was a good leader.

Just thought I remembered you saying you didn't vote for Trump.
What you may remember is me thinking I wasn't going to vote, because of the two terrible candidates, but in the end, I had to vote directly against Hillary Clinton just to know I did everything I could physically do to keep her out of the White House again.

What I do not want is a gun registration or the slippery slope it creates, so their concerns are valid.
The Bloombergists want to, in order:
1. Increase background checks (hey, sounds great!)
2. Create a registry based on those checks (rut roh)
3. Ban certain legal firearms based on their scariness of appearance
4. Ban all semi-autos
5. Ban all guns
6. Confiscate
7. Prosecute all patriots
8. Rip up Constitution
9. Start the new order, which is a lot easier with a disarmed populace and the hold-outs in jail
It's the duty of any freedom-loving American to stop them at all costs, including bloodshed.
No, I am not insane.
