My point is you can see Trump's 3D chess in action. If one executive order (birthright citizenship) can't stand, then why should another (DACA).mainejeff wrote:I think that the Second Amendment needs a thorough review as well.SeattleGriz wrote:How does this affect DACA. The Left knee jerks so badly over Trump, all he has to do is tweet. The Left will continue to look unhinged on immigration when this is all done.

We have a document that largely was a work of genius... it, and it’s authors, correctly anticipated the worst impulses of man when he has power. As virtuous as any one side thinks it is, it is still composed of people - the most murderous, fratricidal beings on this planet... for millennia and counting... the founders recognized this. That’s why, on top of all the tenets of the Enlightenment that you find in the Constitution, you also find an Amendment that basically says, “If we fvcked this up, you at least still have your guns”
Literally hundreds of millions of people have died in service of your ideology, as well as the ideology you oppose - the dusty old document you dislike so much has carried loads of water to keep you and the rest of the pampered post - WWII Americans away from that

Re: Trump to use Executive Order to End Birthright Citizenship
When Trump gets 2/3's of both Houses of Congress to agree with him, and then 3/4 of the state legislatures to agree with him, or if 2/3's of the states opt to have a Constitutional Convention, then we will modify birthright citizenship. Same goes for other changes to the Constitution. Isn't all that difficult.mainejeff wrote:

I am under the assumption (not a scholar) that the federal courts were primarily created after the Constitution anyway.bluehenbillk wrote:Not hard to see Trump's plan here:
-Issue Executive Order
-Federal Judge rules against Trump
-Appeal goes all the way too....you guessed it...the Supreme Court
The Supreme Court is recognized as a 3rd branch.
As a President from either party I would tell any lower court to go pound sand of they over ride my decision, force them to go to the Supreme Court right of the bat.

I've been playing the Lottery to get tix to either Charlotte or Durham. For some reason last week, I did all the cities and WON!
I won tickets for Oct 24, my 10 yr wedding anniversary.
Sadly, the tickets for the London.

What were the costs of next day flights? You'd already be saving on the theatre tix (although London has the lottery tickets at 10 GBP, which is a little more than the $10 lottery tickets here in the states).Ibanez wrote:That was for you. I'm impressed you won - the lottery my wife and I won a few years ago was the old website one back when the original cast was in NYC. I've played the lottery almost every day since then, and when they moved to the app, and I haven't won since. I've been playing the NYC all the time, and I was playing the Washington DC one when the tour was there and I'm still playing the Boston one. It's 6 hours to Boston from where I am so that's almost the limit for me. I haven't played the Durham or Charlotte ones as they're just too far. The tour comes to Philly sometime soon so obviously I'll play that one. I thought maybe by playing the trivia game in the app that that would increase my chances - I'm up to 196 stars now and apparently no change in my luck!

It would be cheaper to buy tickets for a CLT show than the airfare, hotel and food. I still do Boston, Chicago and NYC. Those are easy/relatively cheap to get to. I haven't been playing the trivia long and i'm not playing every day so i think i'm around 50 stars.
I'm going to continue trying. Durham starts in a few days and it's about 2.5 hours away.
Btw, you can cheap airline tix from Philly to CLT. I flew for less than $100 earlier this year.
