After a second look, more than 80% of the names of registered voters given to Tarrant County election officials to determine if they are US citizens should have been on the list.

That is sort of what they're implying. I mean, you need an ID for some many things, to not have one as an adult is very suspect. If you can't be bothered to get an ID, should you be voting on important matters?

There are many older people, native Americans, poor, etc that don't have the "Right" ID. For example, North Dakota banned tribal ID's as valid. Alabama closed Licence offices in many counties, overwhelmingly in majority black counties. I would be open to some form of ID, as long as it was free, easy to obtain (logistics wise, ie not have to drive 90 miles to get one), etc.

I could go along with those conditions, easily enough done.

I agree. If the govt is requiring it, then they need to have a period of time where they go into neighborhoods and such and help people.

If it become a nationally mandated requirement for national elections, then the states will be compelled to produce compliant IDs. It has already occurred with TSA travel ID requirements. I’m not a fan of a de facto national ID, but current realities are making it more and more necessary. I think the only data which should be captured is citizenship, name, date of birth, and photo and nothing else.

No it isn't. Many don't drive. Don't buy alcohol. And when is the last time YOU were carded for alcohol?? I don't get id'd when I get prescriptions. There is mail order. Good lord you are as out of touch with reality as Trump.

I’m still looking for this mythical, helpless, borderline mentally retarded minority person who is so hopelessly infantile that they can’t procure a photo ID

I spent a whole career working with and among our poorest citizens and I don’t recall ever running into one of these vegetables - the ones that the left seems to think constitute a wide swath of minority communities

Want to slow down global warming? Kill all the Frenchies and plant trees...
Colonisation of the Americas at the end of the 15th Century killed so many people, it disturbed Earth's climate.

That's the conclusion of scientists from University College London, UK.

The team says the disruption that followed European settlement led to a huge swathe of abandoned agricultural land being reclaimed by fast-growing trees and other vegetation.

This pulled down enough carbon dioxide (CO₂) from the atmosphere to eventually chill the planet.

It's a cooling period often referred to in the history books as the "Little Ice Age" - a time when winters in Europe would see the Thames in London regularly freeze over.

I'm 35. In the past week i've been carded for booze, medicine and needed my ID for taxes.

To me, everyone should have an ID. How else do you prove who you are, in an easy manner, when buying booze, cashing a check, entering some building, getting cold medicine, etc...

But, but the libs say certain people are incapable of maintaining an ID.

Economic 101 is lost on the Democrats...

New York is missing its income tax projections...And the governor is blaming Trump...
Cuomo, a Democrat, blamed the shortfall on a federal tax plan backed by Republican President Donald Trump. Cuomo said the law's cap on deductions for state and local taxes at $10,000 was to blame and suggested it is, anecdotally, triggering high-earners to leave New York.

Rich people tend to be smart...and understand that unless a high tax state subsidizes their lifestyle, they need to relocate...

Another former Republican with no home - because as far right as the left claims the GOP has moved - there's equal evidence that the Democratic Party has moved just as far left, if not more so.

Great news...
Chief U.S. negotiator Zalmay Khalilzad repeated assurances today he received from the Taliban that they are “totally going to lay down their weapons and become peace loving, democratic civilians as soon as American forces leave.”
