There are many older people, native Americans, poor, etc that don't have the "Right" ID. For example, North Dakota banned tribal ID's as valid. Alabama closed Licence offices in many counties, overwhelmingly in majority black counties. I would be open to some form of ID, as long as it was free, easy to obtain (logistics wise, ie not have to drive 90 miles to get one), etc.

If it become a nationally mandated requirement for national elections, then the states will be compelled to produce compliant IDs. It has already occurred with TSA travel ID requirements. I’m not a fan of a de facto national ID, but current realities are making it more and more necessary. I think the only data which should be captured is citizenship, name, date of birth, and photo and nothing else.Ibanez wrote:I agree.
