I wavered yesterday, but I’ll go back to my poll answer of no shutdown. Drumpf will take the deal and spin it faster than a broken washing machine. :twocents:
Fox News was saying this morning that even if he signs, there's no way for Trump to spin this as a political win.

Wrong. Trump was offered ZERO for a wall/fence/barrier in Dec. You don't remember Pelosi's "Zero $$ for a wall" statements back in December? :suspicious:
The Senate had a bipartisan bill for $1.6 billion and 65 miles of fencing sine June.

Trump wanted more. Now he gets $1.3 billion and 55 miles.

And, it didn't matter what Nancy thought before January. The House could have passed it without a single Democratic vote.

That approach explains the four bankruptcies, and he’s hard at work on a fifth (the US of A). What a shytty negotiator.

You do know that Pelosi was in the minority in December and it was a Republican Congress that had 2 years to get this done and they couldn't. Gee - I wonder why. I'm sure you'll blame Democrats. You have never cease to amaze anyone with your lack of objectivity.

Maybe we should get rid of TSA too? They provide far less security than a wall would and you don't think a wall would work. Then again, your girlfriend AOC wants to ban air travel within the next ten years anyway, so maybe its a moot point.

It's the Democrats' fault that a Republican led Congress in both Chambers passed a budget that Trump said he would sign on a Thursday, then he decided to turn on Rush on Friday morning and decided to renege and cause the longest government shutdown in history? Then he ends it by agreeing to no money at all. Then he agrees to less money in December to avoid another poll-crippling shutdown in February? He is SHREWD!

The guy has no clue how to negotiate or run a country, and now the walls are closing in on him.

Kind of feel sorry for the pathetic fellow just a little. His tactics just don't work.

I was kind of hoping Trump had some balls. I could use another five weeks off. With back pay and tax return I was good until the DoD shutdown deadline on September 30. :D

The 1.6 billion in barrier funding offered in the Senate package was earlier in 2018 (like the CNN link you used stated) (believe it was June) which was no longer on the table in DECEMBER. In Dec Its was a lame duck conk House, and the conks didn't have 60 votes in the Senate votes in the senate to pass a bill on their own.

DECEMBER donk offer: 1.6 billion increase to DOHS funding towards border security/ZERO $$ for fencing/wall.
Now: 3+ billion increase funding towards border security (to a total of about $23 billion): $1.7 billion non fencing/wall + $1.375 billion fencing/wall.

I didn't say it was a win. But its $1.375 billion more in fencing/wall for FY 2019 than was offered by the donks in Dec.
