Yes, post WW2 the term is associated with the Holocaust. Kinda how the swastika is not associated with Native American tribes or the countless other civilizations that used it. And please, tell me more how Jews, Catholics, Gyspys, homosexuals, POWs and other dissidents weren't killed in concentration camps because they weren't in an extermination camps by our definition.
