Of course we see different areas differently... imagine that. But I was just giving the definition, which two of the items in the poll (besides PITB) don't meet. If you wanted to ask which is more of an eyesore, or more of a terrible place... fine. Again, I just think it's funny that a month later 88 was still mad that I called this wasteland...

And prior to that made a joke about a "manure lagoon" being a wasteland. I think we found 88's Kryptonite.

I'm just having a little fun at your expense. I can stop if you feel bullied.89Hen wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 2:04 amI think it's funny that this has stuck in your craw so much.UNI88 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2020 9:55 pm
Overgrown with what? Tract homes? Abandoned buildings? Sh!t, an abundance of abandoned or decrepit buildings could be considered both overgrown and barren.
So there's that.
Your perspective is just that, your perspective. It isn't fact and it isn't necessarily right.
BTW, why would the question be "what is more" but you can choose three?

Have at it. A month after the last mention just seems like it's a bit past the statute of limitations. Hence the "quip" clip from Shallow Hal.

EG: Many Seattleites view E WA as the same because trees and biodiversity.
1). E WA has tons of trees.
2). The cryptogamic crust layer of the treeless shrub - steppe areas have a greater amount of biodiversity than the coastal rainforests and are loaded with wild flowers if you’re not too lazy to get out of your car and explore.

Using my three weeks vacation to see a couple wild flowers.... I guess we'll just have to chalk that up to "one man's idea" of what is a good use of time.

To each his own. New Mexico is very diverse and beautiful. You probably think the entire state is relatively flat and arid but it's mountainous in the north. I learned to ski at Santa Fe Basin and Taos is supposed to have great skiing (your son might want to take a look at a trip there once all of this is over). It's been a long time but Santa Fe was a great town/city. And Hatch Chiles ... awesome!89Hen wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 9:58 amThe whole state? While its too deserty for me, look in the background- house with a tree line. Probably a creek or body of water there. Not far from those mountains in the background. Probably have a town or city not too far away. You could shoot guns & hunt on your property- heck right off your back porch. Blow shit up in your backyard. Basically do what you wanted with no neighbors or homeowners assoc to nag you. And probably no liberals.89Hen wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 8:14 amOf course we see different areas differently... imagine that. I know New Mexico is diverse. But do you know that 80% of New Mexico is uninhabited?
+/- 2 million folks in NM. That's only 2x my county in 121,697 mi² compared to 507 mi²
I don't doubt that MANY of you guys would rather live in NM than my county, but the TRUTH IS that MUCH of NM is an unused area of land.

If you consider farm land, ranches, national parks, national forests, national testing areas, etc unused.89Hen wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 2:50 pmAre you honestly asking yourself to speculate on how I feel?UNI88 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 11:59 am To each his own. Very little land is unused. Just because it doesn't have people on it doesn't mean it is unused.
I LOVE the fact that Arizona has so much "unused" land that belongs to all of us (we liberals have to fend off the feckless conservatives that want to sell it all off).

Your stumbling blocks are thinking that unused land is a bad thing and that’s devoid of importance.89Hen wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 4:02 pmVERY much land is unused, and that's not a bad thing. There’s no right or wrong with this one. Some define wasteland by proximity to the nearest Wawa, others by proximity to nature....BDKJMU wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 6:55 pmYou act like more people & density is a good thing.89Hen wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 2:50 pm

I voted for wise open rolling hills. Not so much as I dislike or cant find beauty in it. But because I live in blighted urban area, or very close to US Route 40. ECB, this thread is just a way of making the 20% of the population feel better about them selves. Fuck you and Carol Bickens!

And I live in a metropolitan area with a population of almost 2.5 million people and moved here from the 3rd most populous metropolitan area in the US.
Sue me for finding subdivisions of cookie-cutter homes a depressing wasteland. And I don't care if those homes are on a fraction of an acre or a full acre+ and cost a million dollars, mcmansions are customized monotony.
