WRONG

Those state laws were struck down about 5 years ago - rightfully - as an infringement on peaceful assembly and free speech

Federal law prohibits barring access to clinics by physical force or intimidation

You’d ban it all because free speech is the enemy of the revolution.... we get it
That's really unfortunate. The states and local governments should ignore the Supreme Court and go ahead with them.

Yeah

Except for the lawsuit losses for unlawful arrests... it’d totally work

States should throw out or ignore the lawsuits, then let the SCOTUS enforce the rule with its army.

Want detail oriented though? Make the entrance 500 feet wide. And for 89, 500 is just a number I'm throwing.

If there's anything the last four years have taught me, it's that if you're powerful enough, you can simply ignore the law and no one will do anything about it (even in a "strong" democracy). States are pretty powerful. They should just ignore the fed.

Isn't that a libertarians wet dream anyways? The Federal government having little to no power over states?

Let's implement it.

Bless your heart

There’s nothing the states can do about civil rights violations and the associated torts

Or are you just planning on politely asking protesters to obey unconstitutional laws?

And good luck getting the police and local jurisdictions to enforce it when they have direct liability

The founding fathers were way more extreme than I am.

In fact, they actively led the theft of Native American land and enslavement of black people, all so they didn't have to pay some taxes back home. And then went on to architect a government made only by rich white men, in which (some) people had indirect say and their upper-class were the final arbiters of all decisions.

Then had the audacity (or fine propaganda skills) to define it as liberty.
It is completely and utterly ignorant to judge the Founding Fathers by today's standards. When compared to others of the time they were remarkable men and that is the way that history should remember them. They did more to further the cause of liberty and equality then Bernie and all the other progressives living today will accomplish in their lifetimes.

250 years from now people won't even remember Bernie and his band of neo-progressive bro's.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

Yup, the biggest issue with our knee-jerk, social media gotcha mentality that so many folks like to pull snippets of things, and in history it's even worse, without keeping the context of what they are pulling out. Any review of historical events or entities without keeping in mind the context of that history is lazy at best and deceitful at worst.

So you're better than our founding fathers. Kalm, you stand corrected.
Most of us are significantly better people than our founding fathers. We really should be renaming cities and states, as well as taking down their statues from public places. Let them live in the history books and museums. :coffee:

They were just a bunch of new elite wanting to overthrow old elite, and everything else was rhetoric designed for popular support.

Certainly extreme for their time though.
It's easy to say an 18th Century person with 18th Century attitudes and ideals is inferior to someone as enlightened as a 21st Century Millennial.
