What good would protests do in rural areas? 12 people getting together to protest wouldn't really have much of an impact.

There isn't any mastermind involved-the only person that had a plan was the scumbag cop that snuffed the handcuffed suspect, everybody else is just grabbing an opportunity that fell into their laps. The MPD says they've arrested several people with ties to white supremecist organizations, but you know how cops lie, and undoubtedly the antifa crowd is on top of things too although I haven't seen a Guy Fawkes mask yet but right or left there seems to be a whole lot of white folk breaking glass and looting the small businesses that are left unprotected while the cops protect the big businesses and the home of the scumbag that started things off, (And whose wife just filed for divorce after stating her support for the family of the victim).SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 10:48 amI know. There is also a pic of a crowd of black men protecting one of the riot cops that had become separated from his sounder.

They were told to get inside.Vidav wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 12:01 pmAccording to the government website I linked you are not disobeying to be outside after 8pm as long as you are on your own property. That is what you were arguing about, saying people had to be inside their homes. That is a flat out lie. That is the only point I was making.
Law enforcement sweeping a small, residential street in the Whittier neighborhood yelled at the residents to "get inside, now!" Moments later, when the residents were still on the porch, one law enforcement member yelled "light em up!' and another shot paint rounds at them, splattering across the home.

I think he is referring to antifa thugs infiltrating the protests and setting off the riots via breaking windows and other vandalism. I don't think anyone here is claiming the cop killing Floyd was a setup specifically for these nationwide riots.houndawg wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 1:32 pmThere isn't any mastermind involved-the only person that had a plan was the scumbag cop that snuffed the handcuffed suspect, everybody else is just grabbing an opportunity that fell into their laps. I don't either and I don't see how you read that in. Officer Chauvin was the only one with a plan and it wasn't about riots, it was about snuffing a handcuffed suspect in the middle of the street in broad daylight while his buddies helped. But hey what is that compared to property damage?SDHornet wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 1:45 pmI think he is referring to antifa thugs infiltrating the protests and setting off the riots via breaking windows and other vandalism. Re: Here We Go Again (Minneapolis, MN)
Chauvin and those other cops need to be thrown in jail for a very long time at the very least. Not sure how any of that means rioting and looting is okay though. Why the left is embracing the idea that those two stances are mutually exclusive is absurd.houndawg wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 1:52 pmI don't either and I don't see how you read that in. Zero sympathy for those cops that got beat. They brought this on themselves by not arresting bad cops when they have been violating people civil rights for 100 years. Fuck them and their thin blew line.Ibanez wrote:So where’s the justice for the cops that were brutally beat last night? My sister is taking care of the one in Charleston. Beaten for being a cop. And in LA there's a video circulating of cops leaving an old cruiser behind during a peaceful protest...and then possibly burning it themselves.
Of course this constant highlight of looting is a great right-wing tactic to avoid the actual issue at hand and demonize those who fight for equality. They also avoid talking about the cops instigating violence, or the protestors who clean, help fix damage, and donate to those affected.
That’s how you get anarchy and confirm the suspicions of people that are already upset over the violence.

Protesting injustice by destroying your neighborhood and companies that have no involvement turns yourself struggle for equality and justice into a farce.
Trip you spend a lot of time criticizing law enforcement and the government. What have you personally done to improve race relations?

Oops....
Jail records show most arrested in Minneapolis riots have Minnesota addresses
Oh well, there goes that narrative.
You do realize that it is possible to have a Minnesota address and be from out-of-town? I think I see part of your problem.
https://www.twincities.com/2020/05/30/m ... minnesota/MINNEAPOLIS ARRESTS
The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office provided the following details about arrests from 12:20 a.m. Friday to 11:21 a.m. Saturday, saying 42 of 57 people booked into the jail in connected to protesting gave a Minnesota address:
32 were from Minneapolis or St. Paul
13 were from other metro cities
2 were from non metro cities
10 were from other states/information not provided
Does it bother you being wrong all the time?

Re: Here We Go Again (Minneapolis, MN)
Has anyone else noticed the irony of Trip supporting the protesters and criticizing the police and government response?
The organization that he wants to see become more powerful (the government and its enforcement arm) is what he's criticizing.
He's a supporter of unions but bad cops around the country are protected by their unions. Does he think that only FOPs protect bad employees and that other unions are benevolent organizations?
The police and government response is much tamer than I would expect to see if this were to happen in a socialist country. How do we think Castro and Che would have responded to such brazen challenges to government authority in Cuba? How did Maduro respond in Venezuala?

...and yes, the double standard/irony Trip is supporting is quite obvious and entertaining.

So just wondering...have we heard from people like Gretchen Whitmer condemning protestors for not social distancing, or is protesting in a pandemic only okay when you're destroying people's homes and businesses?
