How much of this is locally controlled? I know in PA it's almost township by township - some are really good at elections, they have plenty of polling places, they're well staffed, and things run well. In some townships, though, and still predominately white ones, they have few polling places, they always have lines, and things never go well. When do people locally demand and implement change? This shouldn't be all that hard to accomplish, especially when it's the same places over and over again that have voting problems.

Virtually all of it is controlled locally. Fulton County (outside of Buckhead) is and always has been the worst of the worst.

Every other county in the state...even the heavily majority Donk urban counties like Dougherty, Muscogee, and Chatham had no problems whatsoever. All voting equipment is supplied by the state, machines, poll books, even the fucking "I Voted" stickers are provided for, nevertheless Fulton County has a $15,000,000 budget for elections and still trip over their dicks.

I was talking to my wife about the Army bases last night and it amazed me that not only are they named after Confederate generals (mostly, I don't think Rucker was ever a general), but there are quite a large number of decidedly bad Confederate generals in that grouping. Heck, some people argue that Bragg was so bad that he may have cost the war for the South (I wouldn't go that far, but he was terrible). And although Hood gets a decent depiction in "Gettysburg", he was almost equally as bad. They were likely going to lose Atlanta anyway, but Hood made sure they lost the city and a lot of men, and then marched that army to its destruction in Tennessee.

Most of these bases got their names right at the height of the "Lost Cause" movement in the 1930's. I'm good with renaming them, especially getting rid of the poor commanders.

True on Hood vis a vi Atlanta and after. but Hood was a very effective brigade and division commander, with much success, esp prior to Gettysburg. Mid-late 1864, after being given command of the Army of Tennesssee by (one of Davis’s dumbest decisons of the war) Hood was a disaster during the Atlanta Campaign (July-Aug 1864) and the Franklin Nashville Campaign (Sept-Dec). Around 20k casualties during Atlanta, and more than that during Franklin-Nashville, often on foolish frontal assaults. At 33 yrs of age he was was over his head commanding an entire Army.

I was told growing up that I’m related to Bragg, a triple great uncle. Also was told how he was a shitty general..

Hood intentionally wrecked his army at Franklin and it has been postulated that he did it to “put the iron to” his troops for allowing Scofield to escape at Spring Hill.

It was the worst, most petulant display by any general on either side during the war and it overshadows any of his previous military accomplishments.

Police Search Baltimore County House Over BB Gun in Virtual Class

A Baltimore County family is warning other parents after they say police were called to their house over something that happened during a virtual school lesson. The incident is raising concerns over privacy and safety in the era of online learning.

Courtney was told someone had seen the guns in her son’s bedroom during a Google Meet class on his laptop.

According to emails Courtney later exchanged with a school administrator, a screenshot was taken during the online class. The principal of Seneca Elementary was notified. Courtney says she was told the school safety officer then called police.
