Kennedy inherited that pile of sh*t from your pal, EisenConker. Kinda like Obama inheriting....oh, you get the picture, dontcha?

In sum. Know your sh*t or get off the board.

WOW!!!!

Nice spin douchenozzle.

Started with DEMOCRAT PRESIDENTS - Kennedy and LBJ, you know LBJ right? Hes the Dem that profited off the war like no other with no regard for the "working class". Basically he was the Dick Cheney of the 60's but since he was on your side you make excuses for the guy and support him.

Then the war......

Ended with a Republican (Nixon)

Maybe its you that needs to read up and become "learned"

You can take all the "inherited stuff and shove it straight up your poop hole (when its not occupied) if you want the job (president) "you dance with the fat bit*h that brought you." No excuses.

Alfie,
Sorry, buddy, I can't even get angry with you because you're so wrong about history. You need to read up on Eisenhower and Vietnam. American "involvement" in Vietnam politics actually goes back to the 1920s. Suggest the book, Vietnam, by Stanley Karnow, the definitive volume on the history of not only America in Vietnam, but of Vietnamese history and how it related to the conflict.

Get the book, it's cheap on Amazon, used. Come back in 3 years, when you're done reading it, genuflect and apologize to me for this ignorant rant. Better yet, Google Eisenhower and Vietnam.

Sorry for the tough love, but you need to learn to not embarrass yourself in public like this. Cap'n Cat is here to help.

I kind of fall in line with Ron Paul when it comes to foreign policy. America should encourage democracy around the world and we have every right to gather intelligence and so on so forth. However, our stereotype as being "meddlers" can be traced back to World War II. After winning the war, Eisenhower's policy of the domino effect encouraged us to sacrifice a few thousand soldiers whenever we deemed it necessary. Things came to a halt in Vietnam, but we were still prompted to flex our muscle in the Gulf War and the Iraq War. Not to mention our involvement with Iran's leadership. American's aren't the bad people here, it's just when our government oversteps its boundaries, it comes back to bite us in the butt.

Still, we need to draw lines based on our belief systems and not whether Vietnam was started by a Democrat and ended by a Republican. The two-party system is playing off of people like Alphagriz1 and arguments like that don't mean anything.

I'm not sure why this is something the President should worry about.

He won't. The hullabaloo is completed manufactured by a Conk media that cannot accept that we elected a black president.

No, I mean the arrest. Not sure why he needs to publicly comment on an arrest. Especially without getting to the bottom of it first. It was good of him to man up and invite them both for a beer, though.

Every interview that I have ever had, except for one, the interviewer has been white. I've only been hired 1/4 of the time. That is an awful rate. Or it could be you're a nice resume and a sh!tty interview. Hounder, speaking as one overweight guy to another, I imagine you're weight wasn't helping you in those interviews...overweight people scream "lazy head case" to a potential employer...It's commendable you've acknowledged you have a weight problem and are addressing it. What is your retention rate at the jobs you've been hired? When given that 1 in 4 chance, has the opportunity led to internal growth with progrssive responsibility and pay? I'm not saying you haven't experienced racism in your career, but let's examine all of the factors (and be honest of your own shortcomings to give yourself a better chance) before we just assign your 25% hiring rate to deep-seated racism in your business community.

My apologies if this has been stated earlier.....only got this far in the thread....

Hounder,
Fvck it, move up north and stay with me in Wisconsin. I'll support you for a couple months. Ain't no brothers in Marshfield, WI, and I think the Chamber of Cmmerce would pay you just to be here in order that they achieve community diversity targets. ;) ;) ;)
I need a partner in my own weight loss effort, too.

I'll pitch in too. Hiller sounds like a stand up young man. Marshfield could use some color.
"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

You have a point there.

I even made it through two rounds for a supervisor position at the 1st call center I worked at. Didn't make it to the 3rd round.

When I worked at McDonald's I was recommended for a shift manager twice. Was passed over both times. Close but no cigar, that has been my life since after college.

The domino effect, although frst articulated as such by Eisenhower, was preceded by the Truman Doctrine and George Kernnan's "X Article" advocating containment. It beganfor all practical purposes when Truman drew the line in Korea. Eisenhower just picked up the same containment policies.

WWI was much more of a "meddling" than WWII. Classifying WWI as "meddling" is absurd, Pat Buchanan's book notwithstanding.

Isolation was no longer an option, probably after Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia but for sure when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor.

Spaniards would say that our "meddling" began in 1898.

Mexicans would say that our "meddling" began in 1846.

The Barbary pirates would say that our "meddling" began in 1801.

I say that the Spaniards have a point, but the Barbary pirates and probably the Mexicans are full of $h!t and can go to he!!.

Isolationism, like pure libertarianism, is wonderful in theory but had we remained purely isolationist democracy is not likely to have survived. The "world island" of Eurasia would most likely be either National Socialist or Communist, which in either case would have marginalized the United States economically.

The only plausible scenario in which the United States could have maintained a meaningful longer term economc and political independence would have been for Hitler and Stalin to have exhausted themselves to a stalemate on the Eastern Front.

On the other hand, a democratic "Oceania" made up of the U.S., the Commomwealth, and the Asian littorals including a defeated Japan, might have allowed the United States to remain, free, independent, democratic and economically powerful.
