Around here, they’re gearing up to get boosters for immunocompromised people. The “merely elderly” aren’t yet eligible, and a bunch of people are “jumping the line” to get that third jab.

People really do suck.

It'll be interesting to see if that paper gets published (the one about PhDs being most vaccine hesitant. I looked again and I think there are real questions about their sampling technique. It is a very large sample (529658). But it appears to be just an on line thing associated with Facebook where people answer an inquiry. You can see that it's not likely to approximate a probability sample.

For example: By the latest Census Bureau numbers, 32.1% of the US population has a BS or higher. The sample for this study has 41.2% with a BS or higher. If you took a simple random (probability) sample of 529658 from the US population, you'd be 95% confident that no more than 32.2% of those in your sample would have a BS or higher. 41.2% would be 142 standard errors above the true value. That's pretty much practically impossible.

It's not a "scientific" sample. Reading the methods it looks like they did all kinds of stuff to try to adjust for that. But it's not a "scientific" sample.

Ha! That TN nutjob DBack was supporting gets busted for ordering a dog muzzle and sending it to herself before she got canned.

https://www.axios.com/tennesee-covid-va ... da333.html
A Tennessee investigation found evidence that the state's fired vaccine chief, Michelle Fiscus, purchased a dog muzzle that she previously claimed someone had mailed in an attempt to intimidate her.

Not good. Vaccinated workers are spreading a distinct Delta variant amongst themselves. Nosocomial infections!

I brought it his up earlier, but seems as if our healthcare workers are going to be a nasty vector of Delta to those under their care.

https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm ... id=3897733
Findings: Between 11th–25th June 2021 (week 7–8 after dose 2), 69 healthcare workers were tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. 62 participated in the clinical study. 49 were (pre)symptomatic with one requiring oxygen supplementation. All recovered uneventfully. 23 complete-genome sequences were obtained. They all belonged to the Delta variant, and were phylogenetically distinct from the contemporary Delta variant sequences obtained from community transmission cases, suggestive of ongoing transmission between the workers. Viral loads of breakthrough Delta variant infection cases were 251 times higher than those of cases infected with old strains detected between March-April 2020. Time from diagnosis to PCR negative was 8–33 days (median: 21). Neutralizing antibody levels after vaccination and at diagnosis of the cases were lower than those in the matched uninfected controls. There was no correlation between vaccine-induced neutralizing antibody levels and viral loads or the development of symptoms.

Delta++ is so yesterday, its the Lambda Super Mutant we REALLY got to worry about.
