It seems he was dismissed from the team for a violation of team rules, which most Michigan folks attribute to him speaking out against RRod during the season. He appears to be one helluva runner, but we've already got 6 QBs on the roster, so he'd likely have to play receiver (which he did at UM). Of course, a kid can say he's going anywhere, but I've not heard anything official saying he is actually enrolling, and he wasn't in the system over the summer.

The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in honor of the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. Ten finalists will be determined on Nov. 30 by a select panel of national media, as well as each of the Mannings, and the winner will be announced on Jan. 14, 2010.

I don't think he was necessarily saying bench him no matter what, but was pointing out that if he isn't 100% healed and 100% "practiced up", that he shouldn't play. At least that's the part I agreed with, anyway. If he's got his timing down with the receivers and there's no chance of opening the cut back up, send him in. Otherwise, give him another week of practice and let him take out all his frustrations out on the Cowboys in week 2, Wofford style. I'm of the opinion that no matter what we do against ECU, it doesn't mean a hill of beans come playoff time. We proved that in 2007 when we beat UM and then lost 2 conference games and had to get the stars to align with McNeese losing to get 3 home games. A healthy AE for the entire season, minus ECU is much more important (to me) than a healthy half in Greenville, followed by 4 weeks re-healing.

Gotta go with Beau on this one. As much as I'd like to destroy the folks from the inferior Greenville, it's not worth jeopardizing the season. Additionally, we've got to look to the future a bit in developing Pressley and Cadet - I hope we can open up some big leads this season to allow these guys to gain some confidence and take us to the next era in ASU football in '10. AE will get his snaps this season - heck, with the progress reports on Pressley/Cadet I've read we may give them a good game without AE - that plus being at full strength at RB should give us plenty of offensive weapons going forward.
