Didn’t know what happened during the end of the game with the clock. I wknew I wasn’t drunk. 2:55 left after 2nd down play/3rd down coming up, JMU got ball back with :55 left. Da Fuq?
Probably woukdn’t have changed the outcome, but would have been nice to find out with 28 more seconds on final possession. Don’t understand how that could have happened and booth official not noticed.
Edit: The officials probably should have called JMU on a 2nd half horse collar on that return and an interference on a pass play. And I think the officilas botched the clock on NDSU’s 2 pt conversion so they had to settle for 1. I don’t get the incompetence.
Agree. The refs were from the SoCon I believe and were over their head all game.Bunch of missed or botched calls on both sides. And that final runoff of the time was a real WTF. They (the refs noticed it) but for some reason didn't do anything about it.
As for our botched 2pt conversion, Entz was on the field (about a 1/3 of the distance between the sidelines and hash marks) at around 5/6 or so seconds and couldn't get their attention to call a timeout to avoid the penalty.
JMU lost because of couldn’t stop #44, 2 INTs, and pre snap mistakes, in that order. But the 28 seconds lost clock thing significantly reduced their chance to score at the end. 66 yds to go in :55 vs 1:23, last play 3rd and 13 from the NDSU 45, snapped with about 6 sec left vs :34. Instead of trying to get hail mary off would have been different call to try to get another 1st down, anywhere from 1 to 4 more plays.
If Cignetti didn’t say anything about it after the game then I assume he wasn’t asked, and didn’t want to bring it up himself. Cignetti has shitty clock managemwnt, but apparently he was aware of it when it was happening, as I saw claims on the JMU board that he was screaming at the officials. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ncaafb ... ar-AARWNVE

Could go on the Sunbelt thread, but seeing as how it relates to what happened during the JMU/NDSU game, and happened on ESPN2 about a 1/2 hr into the JMU/NDSU game when ESPN2 was suppose to be televising JMU/NDSU. This may be worse than the :28 second runoff, as this robbed NIU of a potential game winning play at CCU’s 8 yd line, and these offenses apparently were marching up and down the field: https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/colle ... s%20Joiner.
NIU’s HC must be WAY over 400 lbs. He waddled out onto the field after the final snap about to blow a gasket at the officials over the clock. If I was watching that live I would have been afraid he was going to have a heart attack.

The officials were getting yelled at alot. As for shitty clock management so does Entz. In your case burning those 2 timeout's early was a bit of a head scratcher.

I don't know if this applies, but I was watching an NFL game earlier this week where analytics led to extremely poor clock management as exhibited by an extreme failure to kick field goals on fourth down inside the red zone, a deficiency that directly led to the loss of the game. Would that have had anything to do with the failed clock management in the JMU-NDSU game? A lack of cable led me to watch SmackDown rather than this game, unfortunately....

Bought a couple tickets last night for $120 each, on Vividseats, today they are $500. Will try for a couple thru the Bison Season Ticket option. Need one for grandson and one for daughter. Prices should come down.

SoCon refs are awful.
I’m glad they got some exposure

Only thing is I think they might be reffing the championship game.
Hopefully it is a different crew though.

I heard Bill Fette is in the replay booth.
That will not help me decrease my gametime drinking.

Valid point.
