Also, apparently the President is on the streets ready to fight alongside civilians. If true, then impressive. I wouldn't expect any POTUS or legislator in the last 30-40 years to have the balls to do that.
Well if we would quite electing people that have one foot in the grave it might help.

Per ABC7 this morning, the Sovs sent a warship to demand the surrender of Snake Island, owned by the Ukraine. The guards' response?

"Go [bleep] yourself!" They paid for that impudence with their lives, but one has to admire the cheek when clearly overpowered.

Trump never stood up to Putin, instead he just stroked him off told him how much he loved him. The entire world, independently would say Russia committed a hack and Trump would deflect blame. Trump might've not been a puppet but his lack of action and his praise was good news to Putin.
During the Trump admin, we were daily monitoring NordStream II. It was an administration priority. The Biden admin lifted all objections to it.

NSII, as we are now seeing, was a pretty big fucking deal.

Trump certainly expresses admiration for strongmen but every bit of the narrative about him being somehow beholden to Putin is demonstrably false. The Trump admin was significantly harder on Russia than the Biden admin is, even now.

NS2 was a big deal, no doubt. What an even BIGGER deal is all the oil that flows through Ukraine. Didn't Biden lift objections b/c it was essentially complete and just going through certification/approval? I'm not sure what good objections are when the project is complete. Excuse me if I have the timeline a little backwards....

I don't think Trump was a puppet but I don't see Trump being hard on Russia. Was that before or after he'd give Russia a pass for election meddling or sponsoring cyber attacks? Was he being hard on Russia when he denied Ukraine money until they made bogus statements about Hillary - which they ultimately didn't and Trump eventually backed down? The hardest action against Russia, that I can recall, was the expulsion of diplomats following a UK attack.

Ukrainian Ambassador to the U.S. Oksana Markarova said Thursday that a platoon of Russian soldiers surrendered to the Ukrainian military, saying they "didn't know that they were brought to Ukraine to kill Ukrainians."

At a press briefing, Markarova said, "Just before I came here, we got information from our chief commander that one of the platoons of the 74th motorized brigade from Kemerovo Oblast surrendered."

"They didn't know that they were brought to Ukraine to kill Ukrainians. They thought they were doing something else there," she added.

The below pretty much sums up my opinion on the varying sides and their views:

Hard Left - TRUMP WAS AWFUL AND A PUPPET! PUTINS' HAND IS STILL UP HIS BUTT! #IMPEACH45 .See DBack for reference
Moderates - Trump was an idiot and a known con man. He did some good, some bad. He should've kept his mouth shut and not surrounded himself with sycophant's. Putin probably didn't know what to make of him b/c he was sucking up to dictators like himself and Kim Jong, bashing NATO and throwing out wild conspiracies about everything from windmill cancer to bleach in your veins. How did Ukraine not set up a boat load of IEDs alongside roadways ala the Afghaqis? It certainly would slow the progression.

100k + armed troops in Kiev. Literally force the ruskies to root them out house by house, building by building, block by block. Or course most will die and the city will be leveled, but inflict 100k plus casualties on the Russians.

Biden could be goving a much stronger response. Starting with removing Russia from SWIFT, and putting sanctions on the Russian energy companies.

Trump's bashing of NATO is well deserved, IMHO. I would have done it more tactfully but if you, as a member country, are not living up to the agreement you signed, then they deserve to be called out over it. I am tired of footing the bill for countries that do not want to protect themselves. I have no problem with defense treaties, but all sides need to contribute. If they do not, well actions have consequences. And that might include your country getting steamrolled by an aggressive neighbor.

I do not see myself as a moderate and I am happy to be slightly right of center overall. Some issues I am more libertarian and others more conservative but it balances out to be about the above.

You, my drinking buddy, are about the same, just to the left (as is Gannon). Uni88 is the only true moderate here. :twocents:
