So you think 1/6 is AS newsworthy to MOST AMERICANS as the current record high gas prices, record high inflation, supply shortages, record crime, record illegal immigration?

I think it's extremely important to the future of this country that we try to get to the bottom of what happened that day and why. And I think it's fair to ask what any one who opposes that line of inquiry is trying to hide.

IMO, January 6 was much more than a "dust-up" and the AnTiFa riots were far from "mostly peaceful protests".

Bottom line, I believe that Jack Del Rio was far from "100% correct".

One lasted about six hours, many were let in by capitol police and wandered around taking pictures; the only death was a protestor, and there was very little damage or vandalism (a laptop, a window and a podium, essentially). The other has gone on unchecked for about 3 years in various cities, caused tens of billions of dollars in damage, 25+ people dead, thousands of businesses and lives destroyed and disrupted.

They are nothing like each other.

I bet you didn't even notice, because you weren't watching, how the testimony was almost entirely people who were there with Fat Boy at the time - Bill Barr was particularly damning and he was among the most loyal true believers so you know that the former AG thinks that it isn't a good time to be on Trump's side. :

My wife was watching it in the other room while I was in the kitchen (just a half wall separate) going over college stuff with my son who's going to college in the fall.

Was anything produced tonight that was different or not already known? It didn't seem like anything groundbreaking was produced. Maybe some new clips of the riot, but those clips weren't really any different than much of what we've already seen before. Other stuff about Trump not believing his family (Ivanka) or close associates (Barr) telling him he lost the election and that the conspiracy theories were bunk has been pretty much known as well. You have to give Trump at least that credit, he is completely transparent in his conduct - he's a buffoon, narcissistic, and not really attached to reality - and he's that way 24/7.

These things, though, tend to be a bore. Maybe it's me, but government proceedings, even when produced with high cost television producers, just are not terribly thrilling stuff. I'm not sure I'll watch much more. I know there was a riot, I know Trump wanted to overturn the election results, I know he encouraged violence, and I would've voted to impeach and remove him after 1/6, or encouraged the remaining cabinet to 25th amendment him. And I wouldn't vote for him for any elected office in the future. But again, we know all of that already, it's been covered pretty extensively since 1/6. What more are they going to talk about in the other 6 (I think there are 6 more) hearings? I can see why they waited until the summer to do the prime time stuff - most networks have nothing to show once summer hits since people aren't watching tv now - putting these hearings on aren't going to hurt them one bit.

After just one hour in, I’m not sure they left Garland any choice. The dots being connected to members of congress and the Trump and Bannon tweets and statements on Dec 19th following the attorneys telling Trump they wouldn’t go along with it seem like big tells of the case they’re building.
