It’s simple, if minors aren’t emotionally or intellectually ready for books about a child with 2 moms (or a child growing up under Jim Crow) then they aren’t ready for the Bible.

You just don’t like it when the MAGAt yahoo arguments against LGBTQ+ are used against religion and religious texts.

Once again. You get past the false equivalency, we can have an adult conversation.
I’m not saying they’re the same thing. I’m saying they are similar which in my opinion they are. Taking a child to a drag show is no more indoctrination than taking a child to church. Prove me wrong.

MAGAt yahoos cry like Karen’s complaining about the woke left trying to shove their values down others throats and then turn around and do the same thing. Self righteous zealots on both sides.

Nice overgeneralization. Teaching children to understand we all commit sin and no one is better than another is NOT the same as sexualizing a child that is too young to even understand their own sexuality. By your line of reasoning, college is grooming, even work.

In fact, there are children's Bibles, classes and sermons that are age appropriate. You want to sexualize a 5 year old, be my guest, but as for my children, no thank you.

Lastly, the Bible is the most requested book that be kept out of public schools.

Tell that to the MAGAt yahoos who complain that drag shows and books about 2 dads are attempts to groom children.

Religious education is a more overt attempt to “groom” children. You don’t see it as grooming because it’s consistent with your values. Why can’t you respect other people’s values the way you want them to respect yours?
How about books that are provided to jr high/pre teen children that describe gay underage sex acts. Do they count as attempts to groom children?

How is a book about a family with 2 moms or dads sexualizing them? It isn’t but it goes against some Karen’s’ moral code that they think everyone should be forced to follow so they’re going to cram their right wing version of woke down our throats. They’re hypocrites.

Sin is a religious term. We all make mistakes. We all do good and bad things. We should strive to do good things like accepting our neighbors for who they are not who we expect them to be.

We’re not better than another? Then why did people who identified as Christians enslave black people for 300 years and then oppress them for 100+ more after they were freed? We shat all over them for 400+ years and now some morons think they’re better than blacks because blacks are more likely to be poor, uneducated and a higher percentage of them are criminals.

It doesn’t stop at is a cop out excuse for oppressing beliefs that don’t match your own. They are banning books that have nothing to do with sexuality. If books with homosexual parents are being banned then books with heterosexual parents should be banned as well. Why are they banning books like “Between The World and Me”? 300 s/b 250 or so.

First, let's talk about banning. No book has been banned. You can still purchase any book you want. The issue is whether books will be allowed in school libraries. The Bible is the most assaulted book out there. Absolutely no debate required on that. By your logic, turnabout is fair play and there is a LONG way to go to level that field.

In regards to your statement, you keep using a fairly innocuous example of two dads or moms. The topic you refuse to discuss are books that sexualize children that are directed specifically at that age group and demonstrate certain acts.

100% agree on what we should strive for.

In regards to your question about slavery? Slavery was up and running a long time before Christianity. It was part of life, whether anyone liked it or not.

It took until 1833 to outlaw it in Britain and eventually came to the US. I'm going to say that it was the norm pre abolition, and douchebags, post.

Let’s limit our review of history to starting with independence and ignoring the years of slavery prior.

300 s/b 250 or so.

As usual, BDKKKaren nitpicks a detail to attempt to discredit a concept that he can’t understand.

Lol its not nitpicking to point out that our country doesn‘t have even close to the slavery history, and played a much smaller role in it, along with less of a history of racism, than most of the rest of the world. Something you either don‘t understand, or chose to ignore.

This isn’t an international comparison study on morality. It’s about US slavery being a significant part of our history. Its effects are still felt. It needs to be taught accurately.

It literally causes me no harm to have the story told in an honest and yes age appropriate way. Distorting it does not help.
