That said, kalm, I thank you for recognizing some of my history. Wherever you are, that seems on a par with a guy who recognized my Lodi letterman's jacket in the Navy Nuclear Field "A" School parking lot in Orlando in early '91. Most people that far away won't recognize the school by ANY name....
No way!!
Spent 12 weeks at NTC Orlando in 1982 as a guest of the squids … Completed Two different Navy “A” schools but not as a member of the Navy
As for FCS dying or not? I’m 50/50 on it
Certainly a lot of the marquee programs have moved along. G5 kind of reminds me of an old 1AA super Conference. I hope they will have their own playoff system soon.
FCS is kind of in a weird place when you have dominant teams like South Dakota State and North Dakota State, who are really pretty close to top 25 FBS teams, just steamrolling the sub division year after decade after year…
South Carolina St is going to play against instate neighbor South Carolina next year 9-6 and SC STATE WR Nick Sowell should come out smoking when the season starts this year he has NFL POTENTIAL written all over him he is 6-6 200-210 he should be one of the best WRs in the FCS.

Sounds like he’ll be playing for South Carolina next year

The fan base of South Carolina were hoping that ex-SC STATE WR Shaq Davis was going to leave via the transfer portal but he stayed Sowell said that he likes FCS FOOTBALL.
P5 doesn't guarantee having the cache or the willingness to fund every allowable scholarship. We'll certainly see that at places like U$C, Notre Dame, Alabama, Michigan, etc. But Vandy, Northwestern, and OR State? I highly doubt it. At THOSE places, we'll still see walk-ons, particularly preferred walk-ons.
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Does this mean no more walkons at P5?

Vandy and NW are in the SEC & B1G0. They're getting buku dollars from those TV contracts and there will be expectations that they spend it.
You're probably right about OR State. It will depend on what happens with them, WA State and the PAC12.
Being wrong about a topic is called post partisanism - kalm
MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.
WOW for all of DIV I..The gulf widens between P4 & everyone else. Alot of G5 and FCS aren’t going to be able to afford this. Huge increase in schollies + FCOA + NIL. Going to take a while for the dust to settle, but think going to see a lot of dropped programs (football and mens’ Olympic) by the end of the decade. Some womens’, but not as many due to Title IX…
Proud deplorable Ultra MAGA fascist NAZI trash clinging to my guns and religion (and whatever else I’ve been labeled by Obama/Clinton/Biden/Harris).

Wazzou and Beaver Country have headed to the West Coast Conference.I was shocked that they didn't go to the Big 12
