Cal Berkeley is the most leftist large university in the country. He lost all credibility at ‘federal govt productivity’ and ‘underpaid workers’
That's your OPINION and is no more valid than me saying that trump/musk lost all credibility when they started calling allegedly frivolous spending approved by Congress waste and fraud.

And I'm still  at you calling him a "Trump hating commie lib" simply because of his background but getting upset at people calling trump/musk/vance fascists/Nazis. People in glass houses shouldn't be throwing stones.

Responding to absurdity from the left:
-federal govt productivity & underpaid workers (the professor)
-Trump is a fascist/NAZI/Hitler and MAGAs are fascists/NAZIS

with the professor, Biden, the left are all commie libs.

Wrong.
For one, no ATC controllers were fired as he claimed..
The people in charge of the nuclear arsenal weren’t fired.
That depends on how you define ATC staff and nuclear staff.

Why do you, who calls people commies at the drop of a hat, get so upset about musk, trump and MAQA yahoos being called fascists/Nazis?
‘Air traffic controllers cannot do their work without us’
More than 130 of the eliminated workers held jobs that directly or indirectly support the air traffic controllers, facilities and technologies that the FAA uses to keep planes and their passengers safe, according to the union that represents them, the Professional Aviation Safety Specialists. That alone creates reason for concern about the impact of the cuts, people familiar with the terminations said, even if the initial firings spared the air traffic controllers themselves.
...
“Air traffic controllers cannot do their work without us,” the former employee said in an interview Wednesday. The employee, granted anonymity to discuss their recent firing candidly, said they believe the administration didn’t understand how essential these jobs are for safety but that instead the workers were “targeted just as a senseless line item on an Excel sheet.”

You sound like a spoiled rotten brat
Neccessary? Oh good lord. There are so many angles to attack this from I honestly don’t know where to start.

How about allowing non-partisan government regulators to to continue investigating Musks many contracted companies instead of killing the org like with USAID? Or every single other investigation of his companies?

Or attempting to reduce the deficit instead of another tax cut which will bury us further?

No need to respond here. There are dozens more concret examples that you’ll be in denial over.

I’m not. Every time a someone calls Trump a fascist and/or MAGA folks facists is reinforces their ignorance of the definition of fascism.

Every time a someone calls Trump a NAZI or Hitler and/or MAGA folks NAZIS is reinforces their ignorance of the history of the 3rd REICH.

It’s just a ramp up in rhetoric going basket to 2016 with basket full of deplorables & clinging to guns & religion; Trump & MAGAs are racist (boy they beat that one to death).

Georgia Republican faces town hall backlash over DOGE's 'chainsaw approach' to federal cuts
Rep. Rich McCormick faced an angry crowd Thursday during a town hall in his Georgia district, where many constituents lashed out at the Republican lawmaker over his support for massive federal layoffs and budget cuts by the Trump administration's Department of Government Efficiency.
...
In one instance, an attendee referred to recent cuts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention by asking, “Why is the supposedly conservative party taking such a radical and extremist and sloppy approach to this?”
...
The attendee shot back that the administration was taking a “chainsaw approach” to dismissing its employees and the layoff effort was being “jammed down the pipe, so rushed and sloppily.”
...
The town hall was also punctuated by constituents saying, “we’re pissed,” and “don’t bend over,” as well as chants of “shame!”
...
McCormick handily won re-election last year, winning 64.9% of the vote in a state that Trump flipped after narrowly losing the battleground to Joe Biden in 2020.

One person who raised budget concerns Thursday could be heard telling McCormick that he had done a “disservice” and had failed to “stand up for us.”

In another instance, an attendee asked McCormick how he plans to “rein in the megalomaniac in the White House” following Trump’s “LONG LIVE THE KING” post on Truth Social, a question that was met by cheers and some people rising to their feet.
Nothing to see here. There's no possible backlash. :coffee:

invasion are defunded.
- Mexico has 10,000 troops at the border now repelling illegal crossings.
- The wall is getting built again.
- Mexican and Venezuelan drug cartels have been labeled as foreign terrorist organizations.
- The US Army’s 7th Special Forces Group is training the Mexican Marine Infantry to fight the drug runners and human traffickers.
- Violent illegals are getting rounded up and deported.
- The worst of the worst are getting held at Guantanamo.
- And the least controversial part of the “one beautiful bill” is increased funding for mass deportations and border security.

We have a sovereign country again, folks.

And it’s only going to get better

So the UK is like florida, texas, louisiana, oklahoma, and other states runs by the MAQA taliban?

Do you have proof?
Does that proof take into account the differences in laws and mores between our 2 countries or do they arrogantly attempt to apply American cultural standards to another nation?

Did they cancel the election or reschedule it? Using the BDK nitpicking approach, rescheduling the election means that everyone still had an opportunity to vote, no harm no foul.

putin is a megalomaniacal dictator with no regard for human life but he's far from stupid. We should be careful in how we deal with them but it would be stupid to trust him.
No those red states aren’t fining and imprisoning people over OPNIONS. What is or isn’t ‘hate speech’ is an opinion. So in Germany, the UK, and other Western European countries the govt decides what opinions are acceptable, prosecutes ones they deem unacceptable. So they don’t have free speech. Tonight on 60 Min

Interview with 3 German state prosecutors:

The below is one of many recent examples UK. Made sure to cite it from a lib outlet instead of a righty one. 21 months prison sentence.
The first included derogatory language about immigrants and said that anyone not supporting the riots "shouldn’t be allowed to live in the United Kingdom".

The post also said "deflate the boats".

Mr Mainstone said the second post "appeared to identify certain areas where there are several properties lived in by ethnic minorities, including a property housing immigrants".

Its obvious that the American people want the democrats to reach across the aisle, compromise and work WITH the GOP to make this nation great again.

The lefts character flaws and ego wont let them work for the will of the people.

Americans finally see these leftist snakes for who they are and they are not falling for their lies anymore

FAKE NEWS by ‘Bluestein‘. It wasn’t a pointed questioned. The lady gave a 1.5 min speech. She sounded like a dingbat. Notice about 1+ min in someone shouted ‘What is your question‘ and then another interrupted and asked if she had a question.

Thats where the Congressman or his people fucked up. They should have set a time limit say 10-20 seconds or whatever to ask a question before cutting the mike. Its called a question and answer, not a speech and answer.

Typical dismissal of any criticism/mockery of your qult's false god. You can try to dismiss the criticism/anger by attacking one individual but she wasn't the only one who had complaints and why was there applause from so many when she finished?

Nothing to see here. There's no possible backlash. :coffee:
Won 64.9% of the vote in November 2024 and now his constituents are starting to turn on him a little over 2 months later. Why? Because what trump and musk are doing is impacting the everyday lives of Americans in ways they don't want and didn't vote for.

This is just the beginning of the backlash.

Maybe what trump and musk are doing turns out to cause short-term pain but is good for the country in the long-term like Reagan's policies were. That doesn't mean there won't be a price to pay at the ballot box in 2025, 2026 and 2028. Republicans also won't have trump running again in 2028 the way Republicans had Reagan in 1984.

So what. I’m sure out of close to 800k people in that district (any district) you can find lots of people with complaints.

Lol you don’t know that at all. The 7th Congressional district is close to 800k people. 425k voted in the GA 7th Congressional district. The crowd there was in the hundreds. So about 1 or 2 tenths of 1 % of the electorate shows up to mostly boo and heckle the Congressman, and that mean his constituents are starting to turn. :dunce: How do you know that most of that crowd there wasn’t from the 150k people that voted for the donk? Heck, the election could be held again today and the guy could do even better. You don’t know. A town hall with a few hundred doesn’t indicate squat.

What to Expect at the National Parks After Their Staff Layoffs
The vast swaths of American wilderness protected as public lands have long been recreational oases and treasured national landscapes. Yet park advocates warn that visitor experiences at US national parks and forests are poised to plummet following recent layoffs. On February 14, the Trump administration terminated the positions of 1,000 National Park Service (NPS) workers and 2,000 more from the US Forest Service, representing about 5% of NPS employees and nearly 6% for the Forest Service, with stated aims of cutting federal spending via government downsizing.
...
Kristen Brengel, NPCA’s senior vice president of government affairs, says that, this year, park visitors “are going to have to lower their expectations and really be patient with the park staff that are still there.” She and other park experts say delayed park openings, adjusted park operating and visitor center hours, as well as decreased campground availability are all likely consequences, with park superintendents now facing tough decisions.

“If they have far fewer staff, it may be a choice between keeping a visitor center open seven days a week or running a campground,” Brengel says. The parks themselves are likely to be “a far less pleasant experience for the visitors,” predicting potential problems to include unclean bathroom facilities, overflowing trash bins, unmaintained roads and trails, longer entrance lines, and decreased park programming.
This won't directly impact a lot of people but the ones who are impacted will cover the ideological spectrum and likely be passionate about the Parks.

Makes me wonder about the USFWS which among other things manages federal wildlife refuges. Turnbull is 15 minutes out of Cheney and I hike there and have been using it since I was a kid. It’s an unbelievably cool resource for local schools and EWU’s biology department. It’s also important habitat for nesting trumpeter swans, moose, elk, black bear, and a variety of song bird and waterfowl species.

Why do fascists hate nature and education?

Keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better. QUNI88 grasping for straws to sooth his raging TDS..

Lol. You claimed multiple polling #s showing a drop over his 1st month, yet you cite 1 poll that shows he dropped over the 1st month. And that poll graph at 1st glance looks like a decent drop, then you see on the axis its only 47 to 44.

The 2nd graph does no comparison over the last month.
And the questions are completely biased. Examples:
-Calls criminal illegal aliens ‘undocumented’ There’s no such thing as undocumented immigrants.
-Instead of asking ‘Shutting down USAID’ it asks ‘Shutting down the agency that provides humanitarian aid in low-income countries.”
-Asks about ‘Banning transgender people from serving
in the military’ but doesn’t ask about the 80/20 issue of banning men from playing women’s sports.

IOW’s “I guess you’re right but….”

(There at least 4 polls this week showing a drop one as high as 11 points. Not a huge surprise as he left office with the worst ending numbers in history.)

Russ Vought, Director of the Office of Management and Budget, is probably the one who helped draw up the DOGE game plan.

Separate from Russ, love how Trump has made the EU take the pro war stance.
Vought was literally co-author of project 2025

You too apparently fail to realize he is making products that are used for the betterment of the environment (Tesla) and exploration (SpaceX) which both require large amounts of cash to get up and running.

NPR is people throwing out opinions. NPR starts producing something of value and then you can start to compare.
So does Rivian.

I wonder what might happen to their $6.6 billion federal loan. Who stands to benefit if it's pulled?
Rivian’s most ambitious investment project to date could be at risk, after Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp warned disbursement of a $6.6 billion U.S. federal loan had been put on hold.

The automaker secured the financing through a dedicated Department of Energy program in the dying days of the Biden administration. The funds are needed to erect a manufacturing plant that can build its next-generation R2 electric cars at scale.

To date, the most famous recipient of the DOE program’s funding is Tesla.
I actually pay attention to Rivian. They have had issues meeting their production schedules.

We'll see what happens to the loan.

Dow falls nearly 750 points and US stocks tumble as businesses and consumers worry about tariffs
U.S. stocks fell sharply Friday after reports showed that worries among consumers and businesses about President Donald Trump’s policies may be hitting the U.S. economy.

The S&P 500 sank 1.7% for its worst day in two months. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 748 points, or 1.7%, and the Nasdaq composite tumbled 2.2%.

The losses accelerated through the day following several weaker-than-expected reports on the economy. One suggested U.S. business activity is close to stalling, with growth slowing to a 17-month low. The preliminary report from S&P Global said activity unexpectedly shrank for U.S. services businesses, and many in the survey reported slumping optimism because of worries about Washington.

“Companies report widespread concerns about the impact of federal government policies, ranging from spending cuts to tariffs and geopolitical developments,” said Chris Williamson, chief business economist at S&P Global Market Intelligence. “Sales are reportedly being hit by the uncertainty caused by the changing political landscape, and prices are rising amid tariff-related price hikes from suppliers.”

A separate report said U.S. consumers are also preparing for higher inflation, in part because of potential tariffs that could raise prices for all kinds of imports. They’re broadly expecting prices to be 4.3% higher 12 months from now, which is a big jump from their forecast of 3.3% inflation last month, according to a survey by the University of Michigan.
