Gregg didn't ever get an extension, right? I couldn't find any news stories about her contract at all.JALMOND wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 9:23 amHopefully the Viks have seen the last of the wife/husband coaching tandem, and they both will go happily back to Great Falls. Re: Post-Week 8 Standings
Me neither. I don't really know. The university seems to like keeping the status of all their coaches pretty hush-hush, and as there is not much of a draw here as, say the two Montana schools, they pretty much can do just that. I didn't think the program could sink lower than when Kennedy left for McNeese, but it has. For the most part, the women's team wasn't even competitive in the conference this year. That alone should be enough to send red flags for any other administration to make changes. But the question is, is it enough for the Viks? Portland is getting a WNBA franchise and the area has always been a hotbed for girls basketball. It would be nice if the flagship city school would at least be competitive.Mvemjsunpx wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2025 7:25 pmGregg didn't ever get an extension, right? Well… if Gregg's contract is up this year, I can't imagine she gets renewed. As for Kennedy, his tenure at McNeese hasn't exactly gone well (41-77).JALMOND wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 11:23 amMe neither. I don't really know. Women - MSU has clinched the #1-seed, and NAU is now locked into the #2-seed.
Women - Weber has now clinched a first-round bye, as has Idaho (if they hadn't already).

Post-Week 9 Standings (1 Game Left)

MSU 67-54 IDA; The Vandals shot 31% after the first quarter

Portland State Fires Chelsea Gregg
The WBB coaching change we all expected has happened. Gregg went 32-87 in four seasons, and her Vikings finished last in the Big Sky in 3 of her 4 years.
