So the fish are hoarding the water? Not the corporate farms and over-development of residential tracts in a semi-arid climate with no history of supporting large swaths of human population (you know, because there is no readily available and consistent supply of water...well, except the groundwater which has been consistently over-pumped....)? Those fokking fish.....dgreco wrote:Actually they are not allowing the water consumption to save the smelt population, so in this case yes. It is the fish. Deficits don't matter...
I once read a famous republican say
Anyway: The guy should be able to stand up and yell all he wants - I just can't figure out why he's so upset about a lie... we've been getting lied to for the past 8 years - why now is it so alarming..?

Well when 2/3rds of all our produce comes from the area it is very important that it gets the water because that is more than a majority of our produce. The central valley was also picked because of its good land and soil and climate to produce all the different products that are harvested there.Appaholic wrote:So the fish are hoarding the water? Actually, it was picked just as much due to political influence. The soil wasn't good until the water was piped in....so, taxpayers subsidize water projects while paying farmers back east not to grow crops native to their climate (don't want to water down the price). Understand your rationale...Cali, like GM, is too big to fail and I'm sure the water will be turned back on to facilitate continued irresponsible growth and unsustainable agribusiness practices....oh, and to keep the (undocumented) locals flush with cash they can wire back south of the border...dgreco wrote:Well when 2/3rds of all our produce comes from the area it is very important that it gets the water because that is more than a majority of our produce.
