You do realize it was you who said he’s not openly gay, right? So flamboyance is what bothers you…as I implied earlier. What in the heck do we do about it? Just accept it? Ugh!
You’re so far out of the closet you might as well be toking a joint at the family Thanksgiving day gathering …
I’m not sure you understand what “the closet” is.
Do you carry the same judgement towards someone who cracks a beer during thanksgiving?
Yup, in an advanced society like ours (relative to most of the world), manufacturing will never again look like it did in the halcyon days of the 1950's. We're manufacturing more than ever in this country, but, because of technology and efficiencies, we're doing it with less and less actual people. And nothing can change that. And tariffs have never been a recipe for correcting or reversing that. Free trade had its issues (i.e. what to do with the people who used to rely on factory jobs), but tariffs do not in any way solve that and rather, actually increase the headwinds for American manufacturers. The only question is really how and when does Trump unwind the damage he's been causing.

If they start making a scene and slobbering all over the table, I will
I didn’t say anything about the rest you’re now qualifying your remark with. I simply wouldn’t differentiate between booze and weed whereas you seem rather judgie about weed.

It’s the smoke smell, much different than a cold cerveza

So you’re ok with edibles, vales, oils, or stepping outside. Cool.

Stop it already, he's getting plenty of pomp and circumstance on his visit. I doubt the UK could offer even more of a welcome than they are doing right now.

Starmer was there today for all the hoopla and he's hosting Trump at his own house tomorrow. Again, he's getting a plenty fine welcome.
It would be funny if they invited him to 10 Downing and ambushed him like trump and Just Dance vance did to Zelensky in February. A little taste of his own medicine could be good for trump. It might disabuse him of the notion that the world should grovel at his feet.

What would be funny about that? First of all, he would probably relish that kind of insult-driven display of bravado - that's like his native language. And second, he would then also come home and be even more on a kick of political retribution and the fallout to follow. Nothing is going to disabuse him of any notion he already has. No, the best course of action for the UK in this is to wine and dine him, dazzle him with trappings of royalty, and hope that January 2029 gets here as soon as possible.

Crushing it even though Powell is trying to fuck the country. Why does the left hate working people? (White)
Do you actually think Powell is “left”?
I do know:
-In Aug 2021 he said inflation was going to be transitory. Anyone who said that is an economic moron.
-He defended Biden‘s profligate spending that gave us the high inflation.
-He was way too late to start raising rates March 2022) in response to inflation. Should have started a full year earlier.
-Waited too late to start lowering them.
One of Trumps biggest mistakes was nominating him in 2018. And a lot in the Senate (conk and donk) mistakenly voted to keep him for a 2nd term in 2022.
BTW Too Late Jerome lowered rates by a paltry .25 bps today.

I don't know if he's left or right. I would agree that he was far too in lock-step with what the Biden administration was doing. We worry about Trump trying to manipulate the Fed today, but Biden, however it happened, certainly got Powell's support while doing a fair amount of economic voodoo. Heck, I'd even argue that the Fed's decision, in a departure from previous norms, to suddenly lower interest rates so close to the election in 2024, was potentially politically motivated. I think at this point you could certainly argue that Powell is anti-Trump, but again, that doesn't indicate right or left. Given the disastrous economic performance of the Biden administration, and the Fed's support in helping with that, Powell will not be a well remembered Fed chair.
The Left/TDSers should hate him, because if he had spoken out against Biden‘s profligate spending, which might have swayed a couple of votes against the 3rd big Covid relief bill and the Inflation Creation Act (which is all it would have taken to stop their passage), and taken a year earlier aggressive rate hike stance against inflation, inflation wouldn’t have been as bad, and Trump might not have won. Would have been closer anyway.

Now the gloves will come off:
Symbolic gesture ...
Per §219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, the Secretary of State is authorized to designate an organization as a foreign terrorist organization in accordance with this subsection if the Secretary finds that-
the organization is a foreign organization;
the organization engages in terrorist activity, or retains the capability and intent to engage in terrorist activity or terrorism); and
the terrorist activity or terrorism of the organization threatens the security of US nationals or the national security of the US.
Will the unhinged, extremist rightwing Karens come out if a Democrat POTUS follows trump's precedent and designates the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers as terrorist organizations?
