Craziest damm game I ever watched. Sometimes it better to be lucky than good. Hats off to ISU they kicked our ass in the second half, but the Cats found a way to win it. Don't think my heart could take another game like that.

Johnny Nobody and his friends shut Sobkowicz down last night but Dylan Lord showed up as a future star in this game 161 yds!!! And he could have had more !!!! Wished that he was bigger than 5-9 180

Re: 2025 NCAA Division I FCS Playoffs
The Illinois State coaching staff shut Sobkowicz down on that last drive when they were setting up for the field goal, they should’ve used their talent and gone to him. In the second half, saw a lot of flags flown when they were going to number two. And they didn’t waste time going to him when they were down by 14 points on that touchdown pass.
But I agree with you, Montana State played him pretty well
But the Redbirds coaches got in their own way… when you have a talent like, that you go to him
Lord played a great game for sure

I can't wait to see what they do when they start recruiting they need to get a NFL SIZED QB Rittenhouse overthrew Lord 2x on potential TDs he should have had some touch on his deep balls.Yes I was shocked that they froze Sobkowicz last night this was a chance for him to show NFL SCOUTS he was WR MATERIAL.Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Tue Jan 06, 2026 5:14 amThe Illinois State coaching staff shut Sobkowicz down on that last drive when they were setting up for the field goal, they should’ve used their talent and gone to him. Were my eyes playing tricks on me, or did the ISU holder bobble both snaps on the kicks that got blocked?

I blame the coaches for having them on the field

Re: 2025 NCAA Division I FCS Playoffs
Congrats to MSU. But how in the hell do you have 9? false starts. I’ve been in the FargoDome and Autzen, 2 of the loudest in all of college football (granted probably neither at their loudest) and it wasn’t that many false starts for the opposing team (JMU). It couldn’t have been THAT loud.
That atmosphere seemed way better than Frisco. Having it in a real football stadium in Nashville so much better than a soccer stadium in Frisco. 35k good size stadium provided Montanas, Dakotas schools make it. ISU too as they looked like they had a real good showing.

Yep. Same thing that happens to the G5. And then new talent will sign, get quickly developed and receive exposure and be poached again. Rinse and repeat.

Unfortunately 2 years ago (Cignetti to IU) and this week I have become well aware.
Zero million can’t compete with 1-2 million which can’t compete with 20-40 million.

No shit. MSU comes to Missoula every two years, so they get the whole loud treatment as well. The game attendance was 24K, so I highly doubt they were louder than Missoula because that isn't factoring in how many ISU fans were in the crowd.BDKJMU wrote: ↑Tue Jan 06, 2026 3:48 pm Congrats to MSU. Re: 2025 NCAA Division I FCS Playoffs
Saw the Cincinnati QB who transferred to Texas Tech could command up to 5 million.
As an aside, I heard (which accounts for jackshit) that UM running back is getting 100K. Once again, forum board, so no clue if true.

Re: 2025 NCAA Division I FCS Playoffs
MSU has already lost two starting corners, part time starter at corner and starting tackle off the O-Line.
Supposedly the other tackle, Zimmer has been getting calls almost weekly since the Oregon game, so we'll see what happens there. I saw a quote somewhere from Matt Miller the new OC at Washington State stating that if the high schooler is not developed they are not even looking at them any more. They don't have the time to develop players any more. Win now or you're gone!

Dal, you and I had a conversation regarding Taylor a couple of years ago. You stated that he needs to be our next QB (played QB at CM Russell in Great Falls, MT) and LB in high school due to his athleticism and size. I said he was being groomed to be a LB at MSU and you thought that was a mistake or not a good idea. Funny how these kids develop and grow. Kid turned out to be a pretty good LB and has a bright future.

I saw a guy Casey Bauman was 6-6 230 and yes he was a Washington State native and I thought guys were making a HUGE MISTAKE.I was shocked that Washington St didn't get their hands on this guy he could have been the next DREW BLEDSOE.canyoncat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 9:27 amDal, you and I had a conversation regarding Taylor a couple of years ago. Sorry, I thought it was Taylor we were talking about not Bauman. It would have been interesting to see with a couple of years of development what Vigen could have done with Bauman. The issue with Bauman from what I remember was he was not very accurate.dal4018 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 9:48 amI saw a guy Casey Bauman was 6-6 230 and yes he was a Washington State native and I thought guys were making a HUGE MISTAKE.I was shocked that Washington St didn't get their hands on this guy he could have been the next DREW BLEDSOE.canyoncat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 9:27 am

Who was the QB coach at the time they should have worked on his problems.
