Chizzang Jesus Christ man.
You make it sound like Rome was one day a thriving republic and then the next it was overthrown.
Rome weakened itself from the inside, and then Julius Caesar crossed the Rubicon.
Rome continued on for hundreds of years, but continued to weaken itself by distancing itself from the original principles on which it was founded, namely its homogenous religion and its homogenous societal-governmental structures. The Roman military was eventually so populated with non Romans that they were ineffective and could not hang on to the hinterlands of their empire and so they began to pull back, until they were so weak that they were paying tribute to the Huns and the Goths and the Visigoths and so on.
It was a very slow death.
If we really want to be technical, then Rome's government was overthrown every time a new Caesar rose to power, but the kernel of their society reigned for hundreds of years until they were overwhelmed from without.
I know damn well you learned better at Harvard.

No, I won't read your other stuff in detail. I prefer to key off of small, insignificant inaccuracies in your posts and harp on them. I learned from the masters.... Jon, D1B, SK, etc etc etc.Chizzang wrote:At no point do I suggest anything other that it's hard work to change a system in place...CID1990 wrote:Chizzang Jesus Christ man.

T-man may be guilty of many things, but keying "off of small, insignificant inaccuracies" is not one of them.kalm wrote:That's definitely the game for some. Ask Grizlaw on egriz.Chizzang wrote:

Some of T-man's posts fit your profile, but he is a prolific poster and his posts are not one-size-fits-all.Chizzang wrote:His actual posts are very short...native wrote:
